We had the most enjoyable and relaxing stay at the Turbine Hotel in Knysna. As per the name? It was an old Turbine station converted to a boutique style hotel. We love the decor and concept. Staff very friendly and helpful. The lux room was stylish and comfortable. Everything you expect in a first class hotel is there including the...

We were really looking forward to getting to Knysna for the oysters, but were absolutely blown away by the Turbine Hotel... In a converted factory, this hotel has kept as many original features as possible and mixed them with super contemporary and quirky furnishings (think The Sanderson hotel, London). It truly was the find of our stay, the staff were...

We spent 3 nights at the Turbine. We really enjoyed the unique hotel that was originally a power plant. We stayed in 201 and 101 which are corner rooms with balconies that were spacious and comfortable. The area is beautiful and just off the N2. It was easy to visit many attractions and activities from the Turbine.

Really nice transformation of an old power station to a fabulous hotel. Nice rooms, stunning interior. Don't miss out the pizzeria next door! Some members of the staff were really friendly, others were anything but friendly. For example was a woman at the breakfast unable to find us on the guest list and almost yelled at us and claimed, that...

Dear Mr Bern Thank you for your feedback. The waitress responsible for the complaint has been counselled and correct procedure explained, she has apologised and requested I pass the apology in person. The day mentioned was a public holiday and therefore the reason for some shops being closed. We value your patronage. Warm regards, Chris Schutte

I stayed at the hotel for a night last week cannot fault it. The concept of building the hotel around the turbines of a disused power station works really well; the industrial heritage of the building is nicely reflected in many different ways, right down to the metal napkin holders; and you can have dinner seated at a table in...

The hotel is an interesting transformation of an power station where old machinery has been aesthetically restored and forms an integral part of the hotel’s decor. The reception and lounge has interesting colorful seating. The rooms are well equipped and comfortable with fancy bathrooms. The check-in was seamless and service was great. We also got a SPA and were happy...

We stayed here for one night on our honeymoon, in the honeymoon suite. From check-in to check-out, everything was great (and not just because it was our honeymoon). The room was well-equipped, the hotel was well designed in all areas and the staff were friendly and courteous at all times.

It wasn't our first time in Knysna but definitely first time on Thesen Island. We absolutely loved it! Everything was just great during our two day stay there - from fantastic location through amazing decor of Turbine Hotel to a service with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt very welcome there. Rooms are specious and with...

Cute spot nestled on the island, easy walking distance to 'downtown'. If you're looking for unique accommodations with modern comforts, you can't beat it! Lovely restaurant, spa and pilates on-site as well!

Recently stayed at this hotel during a driving trip in South Africa. The design and layout was fantastically quirky. All built around the old workings of an old factory. The rooms were immaculate and the staff were very helpful. We ate at a locally recommended restaurant in the evening so I can't comment on the evening meals but the breakfast...
