A wonderful and historic place at the edge of some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. A very comfortable stay with my family which includes two young children. We felt safe and very welcome. looking forward to trying to arrange a revisit.

Forest Edge Nature-Lovers' Retreat was a delightful lodging surprise from my recent trip to South Africa. Nestled up against a large preserve of remnant native podocarpus forest, the lodge offers unparalleled opportunities for hiking and viewing forest wildlife. Out of the way and secluded, it's close enough to the seaside tourist town of Knysna to provide access to shopping, beaches,...

Forest edge is a lovely place to stay. It is beautiful, tranquil and safe. There are a lot of activities and places to see close by. Service is excellent and staff is friendly. I like that Forest Edge is environmentally conscious and water wise. The cottages are comfortable, cosy and well equipped. Very well priced too. Looking forward to a...

We stayed in forest edge for 3 nights with 2 young children (3and 5 years old) and we truely had a wonderful stay! Ronel, the guestwife was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. The chalets are like in a romantic movie, very cosy and also very clean! Lovely place to sit on the deck, and watch the romantic...

We just spent 6 nights at Forest Edge and didn’t want to leave! This is a truly beautiful, peaceful, fairy-tale place, right at the border of the indigenous forest. The chalets are cosy and very comfortable. We instantly felt home, far away from home. We spent hours on our deck, listening to the birds or to the wind in the...

Our recent stay at Forest Edge was a deeply fulfilling experience. Following a long motorbike ride from Stanford, we kicked off with a gentle aroma therapy massage, provided by Massage Therapist Meagan, in the privacy of our chalet. Wow! Clearly evident was Ronel's (the owner) attention to detail and the impeccable taste with which her chalets were furnished. Highlights were...

We enjoyed the enchanting Knysna forests with their streams, birds and indigenous trees also the relics and stories of the old woodcutters and gold miners. Our cottage was attractively designed in the style of a miner's house in a garden of lush flowers and trees. Eco-friendly principles have been used wherever possible, so that one lives in harmony with nature....

It was our first holiday to the Garden Route in Western Cape. We chose Forest Edge because my husband enjoys hiking and to study different bird species and I loved the photo's of the Victorian bath and outdoor shower! What you see on their website, is what you get ! On arriving we were well impressed with the security, the...
