My husband and I stayed here as a last-minute booking when all other places were full - normally such a hotel would be a little out of our price range. However, we decided to splash the extra cash, as it was 4 years to the day that my husband had proposed just down the road. The grounds of the estate...

After recent very good lunches at The Conservatory, with efficient service, a delicious prawns' starter, good main courses & outstanding desserts( esp. the crème brule'e), we were very disappointed yesterday. I was given the wrong table (having specified which one I would like when booking 8 days before)' but to be fair, it was cooler beside the tree although I...

I have read numerous rave reviews and wonderful press pieces on Cellars-Hohenort and had always wanted to see it first hand. Despite not having a reservation for the fully booked Christmas event, the staff kindly let us have a drink in their amazing lounge. Seasonally decorated and an ambience that will take your breath away can only allude to the...

Our first visit to the Cellars. In spite of a small booking hiccup we were made very welcome. This is a stunning location with beautiful views. The service is attentive and friendly and the food absolutely delicious. A great place for a romantic meal for two or a family gathering.

I attended a major event at the hotel in November, and the hotel itself was up to expectation. It has marvellouse gardens, and the main part is in an historic Cape house, so has character. The restaurant was surprisingly good value and the breakfast terrace stunning, with an excellent breakfast served and good, attentive staff. Our hotel room was spacious...

Dear Peter E Thank you for your lovely compliments on our Hotel it is really appreciated, as to your event, you may recall that your numbers had increased two days prior to the event and had exceeded the capacity of the room, I am sure that this was communicated to you. We have stayed at all three hotels in the collection, The Plettenberg ( Wonderful) The Marine ( Wonderful) and Cellars-Hohenhort ( Nice, with the most beautiful gardens) The staff could have been more pleasant and a smile would not have gone amiss. We ate in The Conservatory restaurant and the food was of a high standard.
