I was robed three times and was threatened. The safe was spoiled. The ceiling leaked water when raining. There was no shampoo. Coffee morning was the same every day and mainly included starry and scrambled eggs. There was no desk or chair in the room. I was liked only by the silence and the bathtub which was very comfortable. The...

Dear Beloved Guest Thank you for your most valued feedback. It is with great sadness that you felt that way whilst staying with us. To revisit the turn of events, we gave you the key to the safe and you told us, you chose not to use it and the security guy you suspected on a couple of times of...

Beautiful accommodation. Warm , modern and comfortable! Our originally allocated room had a faulty bathroom but they gave us no hassles and simply moved us to a better room, A+ service if ever there was. Would love to return in the summer and enjoy that gorgeous pool too!

Dunkley House was well situated in terms of my business commitments. My stay was comfortable, more value-for-money than luxury. Immaculately clean with cheerful, helpful staff. I liked the no fuss, efficient service.

Everything was excellent except the room and eating area was so very cold that it was very uncomfortable. We thought they would provide a portable heater but that was not the case. They had a small wall heater, which was worthless unless you were standing in front of it. The service, food and room was excellent.

We opted to stay in a guest house as out itinerary was so full it was somewhere to sleep. What made the difference was the staff in particular front of house manageress who was very helpful in planning our trips. Her wealth of knowledge really made the difference. The guest house was clean, the staff very friendly and I would...

A lovely stay yet again. It's always our first stop on our 6 week touring holiday of South Africa. It's an easy 20 minute drive from the airport which is a great bonus. The staff are wonderful and always so helpful booking restaurants etc. The position is great for all our needs....plenty of restaurants within walking distance and a 10...

Impressed with fittings & decor of the room. Very comfortable, loved the open air patio, bathroom & shower fittings. Would've loved a room with windows though to enjoy some sort of view of the wonderful Mother City.

Expect a warm, relaxed rather than formal, welcome and, in the refurbished rooms, chic modern style combining cool chrome, frosted glass and zingy colours. Three years old, some fittings slightly wobbly but everything worked. Excellent air con. Two rooms have plunge pools, great on a 40 degree day! Lime coloured Room 8 (although numbering a bit different on current website)...

Clearly this establishment started off as someone's dream of a nice guesthouse situated in a central location in an historic part of Cape Town. Unfortunately that dream has faded - a lot. The room wasn't bad. It was spaceous and had some interesting and fairly modern quirks. The initial impression of the room, however, was coloured badly by the fact...

Great location in Gardens near Dunkley Square and Company Gardens. Lovely old building with generous rooms and beautiful front garden with pool and Bougainvillia arbor. Cleanliness and decor could be improved but overall a very nice place to stay. A quick walk to charming Dunkley Square, in an area of charming old homes in the shadow of beautiful Table Mountain
