Location is perfect with lots of restaurants within 10-15 minutes walk. You can walk into town about 30 minutes. Every nights there is free sherry and porto. There is...

We were originally booked for another guesthouse which was overbooked. They referred us to this beautiful guesthouse and it was really very good. Warm welcome from the staff who showed us the area, helped us prepared breakfast (packed) when we needed to set off for an earlier itinerary. Not forgetting to say the room was huge and beautiful. Location was...

Our family of 4 stayed here for 4 nights over Christmas holidays. We had 2 separate rooms. The rooms were nice, I did get a little frustrated with the lack of drawer space. They do have a wardrobe to hang clothes, but no drawers to put any folding clothes in, we just used the luggage stand and used our suitcases...

We stayed one night at this place as someone recommended this place to us for its lovely interiors. We were truly inspired. What a lovely place. Our friends failed to tell us that the service and charm of this place was simple impeccable. Wish we had stayed longer. Breakfast was lovely and bountiful. Everything including the glass of sherry at...

We stayed 5 nights and thought it was lovely. Excellent breakfasts, beautiful room, friendly staff, especially Kaylah, who is a charming, helpful and gracious asset to this business. This place is beautifully appointed with art, and a gorgeous patio with pool. It's in a great area to stay in as it is up and away from the city center and...

Arrival: Keith and Cindy, owners of the hotel, assisted with arranging a taxi (driven by Bradley, a fantastic guy who was waiting at the airport for me with sign in hand; we talked a lot about South Africa, particularly Cape Town, from must see touristy sights to politics) to their hotel. Keith greeted me on arrival and informed us the...

We spent two nights in the African Villa. We had a nice room, breakfast was included, the service ladies and the owner were very friendly. They gave us good hints and booked a township tour for us. Great!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This Villa is much more than that! It is in fact three houses which are part of a Victorian terrace dating from 1892. The double story houses have been joined together and so the inside spaces are much larger than the facade suggests. It's like walking into a TARDIS someone has written on Tripadvisor! There are 12 rooms and the hotel is owner managed.Location is vital when choosing a spot for you vacation and this more than a Villa is within an easy walk of all tourist attractions in the city area. The others (like the fabulous beaches) are a short taxi ride away. There is a small plunge pool in a peaceful courtyard where a very full breakfast is served in summer. (In winter there's a sociable dining room and an eco-friendly fire blazing). Your hosts are very careful to offer you as much information as you want and they will arrange car rental, restaurant reservations, tours etc. As required.Free internet on 2 computers in a library area and wireless access is available in all rooms. At night the night porter will set out complimentary sherry and port and at other times there is an honesty bar and guest fridge in the kitchen. Parking is on street and there is no charge (street guards patrol) but you should not need a car from this well placed hotel. ... more   less
