Thank you Cindy and Keith and all the staff for a wonderful stay. The attention to detail was so good. Our room was perfect and our breakfast was delicious. When we are back in Capetown we will definitely be staying at An African Villa.

This 12 room B&B (or boutique hotel) is located in 3 late 19th century, linked townhouses. The public rooms are extensively decorated with tasteful African art, and this is carried through to the bedrooms. The garden area is quite small for a 12 room hotel, with a plunge pool and 4 loungers. Plenty of other seating at tables. We had...

This was our first visit to Cape Town and we came with my brother in law and his wife. We stayed for four nights in this absolutely wonderful guest house and were all extremely impressed with our stay. Our rooms were on the first floor and had balconies overlooking the back of the property, they were very spacious with comfortable...

This is a lovely and spacious B&b in Cape Town. We stayed in a first floor room with balcony onto the front of the property. Great bathroom with separate shower and bath. Huge bed which was so comfy and great air con. Lovely breakfast in the morning and a nice sheltered patio area and plunge pool. What makes the place...

Great base to explore Cape Town with excellent restaurants and bars close by. Always feel relaxed and comfortable which is helped by Cindy Keith and Louis' approach to visitors. They are helpful without being intrusive. Thanks once again for a great stay and will be back soon.

We stayed here for the second time in February, the first time being October 2007! The place was just as nice now as it was then. Public rooms are very clean and comfortable, complimentary sherry available every evening, honesty bar well stocked. Our room was a Platinum room, with excellent views from the balcony, of table mountain. Breakfast was very...

Stayed for 3 nights in September- we opted for the Platinum room which was lovely and spacious with a front balcony. We tend to stay in larger hotels but as it was not our first time in the city wanted to try something different- well worth it. The breakfast is served fresh prepared by the great ladies with a nice...

Large well appointed rooms and comfy beds. I thought the room was a bit cold, I was there in September and wish there was some heat. My room was facing the street and I didn't have any issue with street noise although from my room I could hear clearly people on the lower floors. Lovely building, great breakfast (ladies in...

Friendly & informative introduction to local area. Clean and modern rooms. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Some rooms have an amazing view of table mountain. Close proximity to shops and cafes on kloof / bree / long street. Pool is quite small (more a plunge pool than swimming pool), but perfect for cooling off on hot days. Overall, a refined...

Have just returned from a weeks stay at An African Villa which was excellent. All enquiries re restaurants, taxis etc etc were dealt with in a friendly and efficient manner by Louis, Sindy, Keith and Kaylar (excuse the spelling) and we enjoyed some wonderful meals at restaurants which they had suggested and booked for us. The bedrooms were cosy and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This Villa is much more than that! It is in fact three houses which are part of a Victorian terrace dating from 1892. The double story houses have been joined together and so the inside spaces are much larger than the facade suggests. It's like walking into a TARDIS someone has written on Tripadvisor! There are 12 rooms and the hotel is owner managed.Location is vital when choosing a spot for you vacation and this more than a Villa is within an easy walk of all tourist attractions in the city area. The others (like the fabulous beaches) are a short taxi ride away. There is a small plunge pool in a peaceful courtyard where a very full breakfast is served in summer. (In winter there's a sociable dining room and an eco-friendly fire blazing). Your hosts are very careful to offer you as much information as you want and they will arrange car rental, restaurant reservations, tours etc. As required.Free internet on 2 computers in a library area and wireless access is available in all rooms. At night the night porter will set out complimentary sherry and port and at other times there is an honesty bar and guest fridge in the kitchen. Parking is on street and there is no charge (street guards patrol) but you should not need a car from this well placed hotel. ... more   less
