Nice hotel in the Waterfront area. Modern appointments. Fairly priced. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Bar is a little weak but breakfast was good. Room room appointments! Good dining close by. Convenient valet parking.

Stopped at The Portswood for a week with my sister in a twin room overlooking the pool. Room of a good size but a little lacking in storage for 2 girls, a minor issue. We knew we would be using the hop on hop off bus & couldn't have picked a better hotel. Out the front door, turn left, down...

I spent a couple of hours in the area. Enjoyed one of the spas located and visited the rugby museum in the area. Didn't really see enough here to warrant vs the nearby Waterfront . I would recommend this area during daytime only . The profile changes significantly at night.

We stayed in a suite & it was lovely. Large & spacious with lots of nice touches. It was in the perfect location for the V&A Waterfront which was a 5 min walk, yet it was easy to find from Cape Town airport. The staff were all very friendly & welcoming.

Stayed in this hotel for five nights in Cape Town. The V & A waterfront was within five minutes walk and the staff at the hotel couldnt do enough to ensure our stay was nothing but perfect. Excellent knowledge of table mountain and activities in the surrounding areas. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

My father would have loved this hotel – growing up we had oil paintings of ships everywhere in the house and I immediately thought of Dad. He would have spent hours looking at all the paintings, photos and historical facts hanging on all the walls in this hotel. It also helps that it has a fascinating history as well –...

This was our first hotel on a five week trip. It is in a good location 2 minutes walk to the V & A Waterfront. From the minute we arrived until we left the staff could not do enough for us. From reception to restaurant staff and porters. On the second morning the restaurant staff remembered what drinks we required...

The location is excellent. It was near the good restaurants and shops and the famous Table Mountain plus the V & A Waterfront and Acquarium. The arranged airport and hotel transfer were on time. Place is near the Hop On Hot Off bus services. Staff were responsive, cheerful and very helpful. Rooms were very clean. Towels and sheets were immaculately...

Stayed here with children and grandparents. The rooms were clean, tidy, comfy with TV, fridge and safe. We were on the front facing the main road but noise wasn't an issue. The staff were really helpful, the breakfast amazing (I don't think there was anything that wasn't on offer, the kids particularly liking the fruit, pancakes, waffles and endless sticky...
