Excellent service from the airport pickup, front desk, porters, restaurants. It made up for the incessant work during the workshop. I was picked by by a luxury car - sleek Mercedes, with a pleasant and engaging driver who even showed me some sights along the way to the hotel. The front desk personnel were helpful and gave me all the necessary information regarding my stay. I didn't need to ask much. They even give you the multi plug to fit to your adapter if it is different which was a lifesaver for me as i needed to get to work immediately i arrived. The room is amazing. It's large, clean, tastefully furnished and really has all you need, whether business (working desk and hot beverages ) or pleasure (mini bar). They have also taken measure to aid in conserving water which is commendable. The bed is perfect. The restaurant - the Mint's service is swift. Which is brilliant for a la carte. The food is great too.I really enjoyed myself. Too bad i didn't have time to use the indoor pool or have a massage. Can't wait to go back when purely on holiday and experience the Taj better.
I came to visit Taj during my first anniversary visit In fact I’m still checked into the hotel My experience was great till day 2 (having booked a 6 night stay) when the house keeping did not clean my room for the whole day Post telling the front desk 2 times and in fact also telling them 3 hours before my arrival on the 2nd night of my stay, the room was dirty and wasn’t cleaned The only good thing about the hotel was the concierge Faaiq who was superb in his service He probably is the only saving grace for the hotel
From the moment we checked into the beautiful and historical building which is now the Taj hotel the service was top class. All members of staff that we came into contact with were very pleasant and professional. Unfortunately we only had breakfast with room service but the standard of food was such that on my next stay I will make a point of eating in the restaurant. Wonderful stay.
What I liked: Corner room with a beautiful view of the Table Mountain. Extremely comfy bed, spacious room, large bathroom, good food selection at breakfast, friendly, polite and courteous staffs. Check-in was a breeze. And the person who checked me in (I forgot her name) was extremely polite and informative. Well located in the CBD, few minutes walk to Long Street. And, of course, the complimentary transfers to the Waterfront and the airport in luxury vehicles.
Room for Improvements: Some amenities seem a bit outdated and operating the elevator with the room access card was quite an adventure because it never worked at the first time for all 4 nights I spent there. Every time, it took me several tries and even a change of cards to get the elevators operated. Seems like there is an issue with the card reader on the elevators.
An excellent hotel in cape Town. Room rates were also reasonable. We had a room facing Table Mountain. The hotel offers an hourly shuttle service to Table Mountain and Water Front. The restaurants within the hotel are excellent and offer Monday to Friday theme nights. Breakfast menu was excellent. warm hospitality and excellent service.
