Thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Game drives were good despite the drought! Our ranger, Steyn, was very knowledgable and went through a lot of effort to maximise the game drive! Room was amazing, food satisfactory.

We travelled with 2 teenagers and stayed for 3 nights and had 6 game drives included in our stay. We saw all of the big 5 - so lucky. The elephants came to the watering hole next to the lodge - straight in front of us while we had lunch. Dion our hour ranger was fantastic the teenagers have a...

From the moment Eva from reception came out to meet us on our arrival, to when 21 elephants bade us farewell a couple of days later, we were treated like VIP guests. The lodge staff, accommodation, meals, setting and game viewing were all beyond expectations. Our very knowledgeable game ranger Phillip hosted 2 drives of around 3 hours each daily,...

We spent three nights at BR Lodge and have a great time. We enjoyed six sunrise and sunset safaris with the brilliant tour guides Darrel and Dian. We saw a huge variety of African animals and learnt a lot from both guides. We enjoyed having time to chill in our lodge between drives. The private lodge room was fantastic with...

This was a totally different break to what we are used too. You don't get to see 'The Big Five' on every holiday. The whole stay was amazing. Our accommodation was so comfortable and a really nice touch of luxury in between safaris. The main lodge was a lovely place to meet with your Ranger and head out for a...

We had the pleasure of staying here recently and it was a truely great experience. The lodge is very comfortably appointed, the staff are friendly and proffessional and the food wholesome and tasty! Only comment is that the wines are pricey! Our game ranger Daryll was extremely knowledgeable and we were very lucky to see lots of game. Amoungst others...

My family and I were pleasantly surprised with our visit to the Black Rhino Game Lodge in the Pilanseberg National Park. South Africans often turn their noses up at the Pilanseberg for game viewing, as it is often over-shadowed by the Kruger National Park or Midewkwe. However, we really enjoyed our visit and had amazing game viewing. We saw all...

We had a lovely stay at Black Rhino. The accommodation was lovely and comfortable and the staff were very hospitable. A big thanks to our game ranger, Steyn- very informative and focused on customer satisfaction. Also to Matthew, Thabo, Albany, Daniel and the barmen. Stayed for 3 nights, small hotel with 18 individual lodges offering privacy. Food was quite satisfactory and prices were really good (compared to European-Euro currency). Pools were actually pretty small but it was to hot to stay outside and swim. Safari tours were well organised in small groups of people offering direct contact with your guide.

A well deserved #3 in the Trip Advisor ratings, IMHO and I agree with pretty much all of the recent previous comments. I chose this lodge partly for the pricing, which I thought was reasonable and partly for location, being in the private part of Pilanesberg. We got to have game drives without the traffic jams that can occur in...
