What a lovely experience! Friendly staff, delicious food & a very comfy room. Will defintely go back. The only thing that was disappointing Was the breakfast, very little variety so if you're not a brekki person give it a miss

I try to always choose accommodation that has a promise of personal touch as opposed to the Franchise Hotel chains. I stayed in a large lovely room situated inside the house just three steps away from the Butlers restaurant, but there are also garden rooms. The garden and swimming pool area are kept very neat. A plunger and filter coffee...

The web site is out of date when it comes to giving prices, but in about 3 hours we had a quote and had made a reservation, as well as booking for dinner at the attached restaurant. Arrival was handled quickly and efficiently by friendly staff. Dinner at the restaurant was good, the service by the trainees being effiient, and...

Stayed at The Estate for a couple of nights last week, always a pleasure. Excellent hospitality, friendly staff and a cosy bar which is welcome at the end of a long day. Staff go out of their way to ensure that all that all your needs are met.

Stayed for the second time at this establishment last night with my family. On arrival we met a new manager, the hotel also has a chef school attached and the quality of the service and food from the trainees had always impressed. Dinner service was not as impressive as previous visit and the main courses disappointed but the worst was...

My second visit here - and the experience was just as good as that of a couple of years ago. Attentive and professional staff, first-rate food, quiet location and just elegant. It's not an anonymous clone of some multi-city (even multi-country) chain so it has its idiosyncracies but if you MUST have wifi, it is available, so why not just...

We had driven from Cape Town to Kimberley and were very pleased to arrive at The Estate, where we were staying for one night, enroute back to Gaborone. Check in was efficient and the man was very helpful and friendly. Our room (7) was one of the garden rooms at the back of the hotel, by the pool. It was...

Unfortunately our expectations were not quite met. Set in the best area of the historic city of Kimberley the accommodation is, perhaps, the poor relation to the associated restaurant (where the food is excellent) and hotel school. The building was once home to the diamond tycoon Ernest Oppenheimer and you will either feel it is historic or just a bit...

I had the opportunity to stay at The Estate on Nov 24. While it was only for a day, I was blown away by the clean and tastefully done rooms, filled with pictures of the Oppenheimers and wonderful antiques. Dinner at Butler's was top class and the owners go out of their way to make you feel welcome - even...

On our way back from Johannesburg we visited Kimberley. If you are interested in history and old buildings suburb the Belgravia is the place to walk around. We stayed at the “The Estate Private Hotel” which was the residence of Sir Oppenheimer. We had the good fortune to stay at the former bed room of Sir Oppenheimer. The room was...
