We have spent here 3 nights and really loved staying here. The lodge is rather small, is a mix between a b&b and a lodge itself. The main house has a nice style with a lot of African objects and books around and with a "shabby chic" flavour. The patio and the breakfast hall are nice and comfortable and look...

I booked accommodation in November 2015 for 3 adults and 2 children aged 11 and 14. Having advised many days before we arrived that we planned to arrive at +/- 4pm. I was surprised to find no-one to meet us when we arrived at 4pm. A further surprise was to find we had been allocated rooms 2, 4, and 6,...

The rooms at Kingfisher Lodge are beautifully designed, with a modern but still South African feel. They were clean and well maintained. The staff we warm and friendly throughout our stay. The breakfast was nice and fresh, both the hot and cold options.

I needed holydays to calm down and I got them at the Kingfisher Lodge!! At the very end of a dead-end street you’ll find a beautiful garden, well maintained, and a venerable mansion. After a delicious breakfast prepared at our wishes, we enjoyed beautiful hours on the porch, reading books or just enjoying the fluttering butterfly passing by or the...

Kingfisher Lodge is one of the few really beautiful spots in St Lucia. Beautiful, lush gardens and a lovely view of the estuary make it a peaceful part of the town. The rooms are comfortable, cosy and for the most part, quiet. Because this is quite rare in St. Lucia, I would definitely book in here again. Whilst the office...

Kingfisher Lodge as a very beautiful lodge to stay in ST. Lucia. There are about 6 rooms connected to eachother in a very beautiful tropical garden with sufficient privacy. The main house is about 150 years old and has original victorian elements with a large and nicely decorated living room. The breakfast area is at the back and overlooks an...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
St Lucia is the gateway to the beautiful iSimangaliso Wetlands Park, declared South Africa`s first World Heritage Conservation Site in 1999. St Lucia Kingfisher Lodge is situated at the edge of town which means that whilst the shops, restaurants and other amenities are only a 10 minute walk away, the lodge`s delightful gardens blend seamlessly into the surrounding Gwalagwala Forest. The lodge has extensive shady gardens with a wide variety of trees. St Lucia Estuary can be viewed from the end of the garden and the start of the walking trail through the Gwalagwala Forest is next to the front gate. This proximity to nature means that the gardens are home to a wide variety of birds and are often visited by animals such as hippos, various antelope, bush babies and very occasionally leopards. A small swimming pool is available for the exclusive use of guests. Guests are welcome to relax either on sun loungers in the garden, under a poolside shaded area or in the comfortable lounge in the main house. All room rates include a delicious full breakfast which is served in a light and airy dining room offering views of the gardens and estuary. Accommodation at St Lucia Kingfisher Lodge: We offer six unique and private rooms. Each room sleeps two and is equipped with air-conditioning, mosquito nets and a bar fridge for your comfort and convenience. All rooms have en suite facilities and a private shaded patio area. Other facilities at St Lucia Kingfisher Lodge: - Bar Fridge in each suite - Traditional Zulu hair braiding by the experts (go home with a new hairstyle) - All our Suites are non-smoking - Smoking on the patio is permitted - Internet Facilities - Free WiFi - Secretarial Services i.E.: Confirmation of flights, arranging tours/safaris etc ... more   less
