If you want emerge yourself into Simontown, this is the way to do it. Located on a short quiet street, walking distance to the beach (and penguins!), This charming old house Will make you feel like you're one of the locals. It is likely that if you sit out on the patio you will be greeted by your neighbors. The... More

Our second visit was as good as the first one! Ilara and Robbie make great hosts and Plumbago is the ideal place to stop over en route to the Kruger National Park or if you are exploring the Escarpment. We can also recommend requesting dinner (although you need to do so before arrival) - absolutely fabulous after a long drive.... More

Ilara is living her dream of providing benchmark SA accommodation with delicious and varied cuisine in a secluded, private and accessible location just 20 minutes from Kruger. Breakfasts are a kaleidoscope of colourful fresh ingredients, and the four-course dinners in the evening are feasts to look forward to ahead of a hard day's game drive. Dishes are carefully and expertly... More

Located approx. 15km outside of Hazyview (keep directions), wonderful guesthouse located in the hills. Rooms have a wonderful atmosphere, the owner (Ilara) very nice and provide good hints. Breakfast rich. All in all highly recommended.

I have visited Plumbago often in the last 5 years. Ilara and Robbie truly understand the hospitality industry and are kind and generous hosts. Nothing is too much trouble and their attention for details is amazing. The guest house has wonderful views of the surrounding area and there is a relaxed atmosphere to it.
