In the heart of the adventure capital of the Mpumalanga Lowveld, a mere 15 minute drive from the Kruger National Park, Protea Hotel by Marriott Hazyview is nestled on a hill overlooking the beautiful Sand River Valley. The rooms are alluring and spacious offering all the conveniences that one expects to make this a home away from home. All our rooms overlook lush gardens that have an abundance of birdlife, adding to the feeling of being away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Not to mention several spacious family rooms that provide a comfortable area for the family to relax and unwind. Lying by the pool with a sundowner, whilst admiring the stunning views of the valley and watching the kids play on the nearby trampoline and jungle gym is perfection at its best. The chefs have prepared a wide variety of dining options to ensure that we cater optimally to healthy appetites and provide special meals for our young visitors. Additional facilities include conference venues, guest internet, Boma and a children's play park - so bring your game. Nearby attractions include the Blyde River Canyon, God's Window and Pilgrims Rest to name a few. For the adrenalin seekers, exciting adventures such as hot air balloon rides, river rafting, quad biking and many more can be arranged. Guests may also experience open vehicle day and night safaris in search of Africa's "Big Five" and lesser known "Little Five."

First of all, the shuttle from the MQP airport to the hotel was extremely expensive for Southafrican prices. They charged us about 75 eur for 2 people. The hotel is clean and ok looking, but somehow is not a really nice place to stay. It is about 30 mins to Kruger park, but if

Beautiful hotel grounds. Rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and good A/C. Friendly and helpful staff. *Internet only in lobby or restaurant area NOT in rooms. Also no PowerPoint in the bathroom so couldn’t use my electric bathroom items. The buffet dinner is good.

Good Morning There are numerous shuttle services from Johannesburg airport to Protea Hazyview or you can also hire your own vehicle if you are feeling a bit adventerous. We unfortunately are not able to help you with price my suggestion is to contact them directly through Gauteng Tourism who will be able to give you their best recommend transfer services. I am hotel offers transport from OR Tambo airport but you can fly to Mpumulanga International airport near Nelspruit and hire a car or you can fly to Skukuza in the Kruger Park. I am sure the Protea Kruger Gate can arrange transport. However it is a very nice scenic drive once you get past Belfast on the N4 highway. You can either go straight along the N4 or branch off theN4 to Belfast and Dullstroom and go over Long Tom Pass. If you do this make sure the weather is good. Their is a very good craft brewery called Anvil in Dullstroom, which is a nice place to stop. There is also a craft brewery in Sabie.
