We (husband, myself, and two year old daughter) booked a last minute weekend getaway on mtbeds and it was fantastic. We had a family tent (#12) which felt secluded and private out in the bush. We could hear the birds chirping, the lions roaring in the distance, and slept both nights with all of the tent flaps open to really...

Some time back my Husband two daughters and myself had the absolute privilege of staying at Thandeka. We had the most amazing time. Very dedicated staff all of whom always friendly. I thought that my youngest daughter would be bored out of her mind. 5 years old at the time, but an unexpected thing happened. She went from been highly...

A fabulous place to go. I went just for the wildlife knowing that you can arrange to walk with lions and cheetahs. The animals don't always co-operate and we couldn't find the tame lions but, the cheetahs were amazing. The guide that drives you around is incredibly knowledgeable and a good source of information. Well worth a visit. The only...

Absolutely loved visiting Thandeka. We stopped in on our way to Polokwane with no booking or advance warning. All we wanted to do was the game drive. We were met by a lovely young lady in what appeared to be a restaurant/cafe, she was very polite and helpful and the restaurant and toilets were very clean, comfortable and pleasant. She...

The lodge is not suited for frequent travellers to luxury game lodges. In South Africa we are spoilt with a huge variety of lodges that would compare more farourably. Firstly the lodge is very small and can't accommodate eliphants. The lions and cheetahs are camped in and not free roaming. Our accommodation was not kitted out with misquote sprays and...

We booked the family tent for the weekend. Tent was ok, but nothing from luxury ordinary safari tent. Floors in the tent are very slipery and carpets slip. Rain waters runs in the tent and enters electricity plugs which are placed on the floor, very deingirous situation. Room service does not have a keys of the tent and is asking...

The people, the accommodations, and the food were all fabulous! The ram steak was excellent! The tents were the perfect combination of luxury and "rugged". The rangers were very friendly and helpful. We did see beautiful white lions, cheetah, rhinos, warthogs, a variety of antelope, zebra giraffe, etc. The one drawback was that the game viewing not quite what we...

“We had a family tent that had a big queen bed in the main room and had a separate bedroom with two single beds. Loved it. Loved the big bath tub too. Had a great soak with the flaps up (it is private enough so don't worry) listening to nothing but the sounds of the bush. I thought I had died and gone to heaven.”
