We really enjoyed our 2 night stay in Marekele National Park at Tlopi. This is a really magical spot and we actually didn't feel the need to spend too much time driving around the park when we could gaze at the perfect reflections in the dam. That being said, this is a park where one needs to enjoy the scenery...

Marakele was the highlight of our SA holiday -. the tents are very, very nice inside - bed was comfortable, bathroom was spacious and shower was good. The area is absolutely beautiful, with a nice view each evening of the sunset and the water. You feel very secluded in the middle of the park, with only a few other people...

Experience What an incredible experience, we have come away relaxed and rested. The tented camp is situated on a dam, it was a hotbed of activity during the day. As we sat and enjoyed a G&T we were joined by a herd of elephants that came to bath in the muddy waters. We also saw a lot of different buck....

Set high in the mountains, the comfortable tented units are built along one side of a dam. There are no fences so the elephants and other animals (this a big 5 park!) come and go at will to drink and browse. There was elephant dung next to our tent which should have been a give away but we were still...

The 'safari' tents set on a large deck overlooking the water are great, elephants came down to drink and play in the late afternoon which was so amazing to watch from the deck. We stayed in Fish eagle tent which is in the middle of the row of tents and your neighbors are a little close. The monkeys are a...

We booked at Tlopi Tented Camp in the Marakele National Park for 7 nights - stayed for 6 nights. The scenery is beautiful, the Tlopi Camp setting is wonderful, could however have been built on the opposite side of the dam where there are plenty of trees that would give the accommodation some shade. Firstly, the reserve is, in our...

Because you stay by yourself and buy your own food and cook yourself this is a nice" in between " the fancy lodges that we stayed in. It is quiet, totally private, only animals and scenery, and real africa, The self drives and the safari drives are a good deal, in comparison with a lodge this is super cheap! Gamedrive...

Having been to numerous sanparks in SA, Tlopi Tented Camp wins my vote. We could have sat all day on our deck and simply enjoyed the numerous different game that came down to drink. The setting is superb. Each tent overlooks the waterhole and in just 3 days we saw over 20 different species coming down to drink not to...

Recently booked at Tlopi Tented camp for 2 nights as a bush escape. As its only 2 and half hours drive from Pretoria, its a nice weekend away, but it is not advisable to drive on the road between Brits and Thabazimbi in the dark. The road is incredibly narrow and is not in a good condition. There are also...
