Shiluvari is a lodge on a lake 20km off the main road north from Johannesburg (N1). We used it to break up the drive to Northern Kruger (Pafuri area). While the general area is not worth visiting, the lodge is a wonderful surprise. Down a dirt track, you enter beautiful vegetation and a tranquil setting. There are both rooms and...

This lodge is incredibly beautiful aling the dam but our family unit needs some fixing up. The kitchenette has no hot water, a micowave in need of replacing, very limited utensils. The bath needs a new tap unit as it leaks constantly when not on and has resulted in wall damage. This family unit is also not kid friendly at...

We had a wonderful night at Shiluvari. They had had a huge amount of rain leading up to us being there, and the dam was full. The room we were in had a bath overlooking the dam a shower inside, but also a discrete shower in the open air, right on the water. Mosquito nets over the bed was also...

When you need to kick back and relax this is a perfect spot for you. The pace is slow, the views stunning and the whole ambience is designed for relaxation. Be sure to arrive during daylight so that you can enjoy the view. If you need some romantic time you will find this a perfect hideaway. The pub is quaint...

Spent one night at the lodge to break a long drive from Harare to Johannesburg. Couldn't have asked for a more peaceful and relaxing setting. The lodge is located about 25km off the N1 along the banks of the Albasini dam that apparently has hippo and crocodile although we didn't see any. The highlight of the trip was the delicious...

The staff accommodated changes in our needs (when we had no right to ask) with courtesy and grace. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were exceptional. The accommodation was tasteful and comfortable. The common areas decorated with style. It was like being a great big hug by Africa.

We stayed for one night only in May on the way to the Kruger. The place is beautiful with the Albasini Dam around. We had a bungalow with a small terrace overlooking the Dam. Perfect to enjoy the sunset and watch the rich birdlife. Wonderful bathroom with a window on the lake. Simple but very tasty homemade food and very...

We stayed a Shiluvari for 3nights in May, using it as a base to explore the area and it was just what we wanted. The staff are just so helpful and willing, the location is fantastic right by the lake. There is not a great choice of food, but we had no complaints and everything we had was really delicious....

We recently stayed at Shiluvari Lodge for two nights while visiting our daughter who is in the Peace Corps and assigned to a small village not far from Elim. We were very, very happy with every aspect of our stay--beautiful, comfortable rooms that overlooked the lake--a perfect setting! We chose to have dinner there each night, and we were so...
