The fact that there are these basic rest camps that are really affordable is such a credit to Kruger & South africa. We stayed in a bungalow with shared kitchen, no utensils. The room was basic but clean and more than sufficient when you're there to be out finding animals!! The kitchen was basic and you needed utensils (although there...

One of my favourite camps in Kruger with an excellent view of the olifants river. Loved the shop, had a variety of things especially for kids. I would definitely recommend it and look forward to going back soon.

We stayed in Chalet 14, huge patio with long comfortable sofa. Views are to die for. After two days of sitting in the car, game viewing, it was lovely to sit and to look on to the river, watching the animals coming to drink and more than 30 hippos coming out to graze and the younger ones running around and...

Lovely renovated/upgraded accommodation, Mugg and Bean restaurant with a lot of healthy food options, beautiful view over the Olifants River. Quiet surroundings to really enjoy the wildlife. My favourite camp in the Kruger National Park.

The rest camp are well located, with a lot of services. But we had a really bad experiance with the Reception on December during our stay. i have booked the room on September and Payed all the amount for the stay on October. On December we have request information related to drives in the Kruger and this additional request was...

Overall the best value in Kruger bungalows were nice but there is no other competition. Most of the camps have recently converted their restaurants over to the Mugg & Beans franchise. They have no seperate adult bar as Mopani has. Most adults drank at their bungalows.

Was a little disappointed with the camp, the service was not as good as the other camps and with no swimming pool, there was no reprieve from the heat (they are building one though). The restaurant (Mugg & Bean) had very slow service. The chalets were in rows and rows down a decline, and we had been placed far from...

We went just to get lunch there and enjoy the excelent views over the olifant river and it worths it for sure! The restaurant is the same you can find in every camp site of Kruger but the difference is the virws you have from there. You can be eating something while you are using your binoculars to find some...

SANParks is doing really great things. We visited Olifants to do the MTB cycling and walking, and we really enjoyed it. The accommodation was really comfortable and the camp was always clean and well maintained. It has an adequately stocked shop where you can get most things you may want (the shop at Satara is really well stocked with so...

We only come to Olifants for the perimeter bungalows. This spectacular view over the Olifants river is worth to spend in a rather small rondavel (compared to other places in Kruger). Since the restaurants have a new owner, eating there has much better than before.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Guests that visit Olifants will be exposed to an unforgettable window of Africa. The camp is situated a top a hill which towers several hundred feet over the Olifants river. Views from the lookout platforms allow one to see the river below, just as a soaring eagle would survey it, as it hunts from the skies. ... more   less
