Excellent entrance point to Kruger National park. Camp was in the best condition compared to Skukuza and Satara. Restaurant served good variety of food with excellent serviced. We saw many animals on the doorstep of camp - buffaloes, impala, huge herds of elephant, Kudu and rhino's. The self catering cottage was in best condition compared to other accommodation of our...

Our 2 night stay was not all that pleasant in the room. Whilst the NP & animal sightings were amazing the accommodation leaves a fair bit to desire. The Air Conditioner was inadequate there were missing / broken louvres on same, it was located in a poor position for best results, this is a very hot location. Staff a little...

We camped in the last week before the school holidays, so the camp was fairly empty especially during the week. The campsite is beautifully maintained, bathrooms are clean and the swimming pool is wonderful in the heat of the day. The shop is small but stocks much more than we expected - including higher end wines like the Springfield life...

We have visited Kruger many times before, but hadn't actually stayed at Bergendal - lovely camp. The cottages are basic, but mostly clean and stocked with very basic equipment so you can BBQ. Unfortunately as the cottage was quite old the shower frame was really very dirty. The main shop and restaurant area are great! The water hole in the...

We spent 2 nights at Rhino house and had a lovely time. The facilities are good but rather tired (like most municipally funded things in SA), the beds comfy and the whole place was spotlessly clean. The house itself is on the boundary of the rest camp so you are looking directly into the park while you are having lunch....

I always stay at least two nights in Berg en Dal rest camp in the Kruger National Park. In my view it's the best in the southern part of the park. The chalets are different and more convenient than the chalets in the rest of the park. Game drives around the rest camp are exciting and you are almost guaranteed...

Stayed in Berg en Dal rest camp Hut No 30. Positioned on the perimeter fence (on rhino trail), you feel that the bush comes up to the patio door. Huts are more modern and well furnished with good kitchen and spacious bathroom. Staff are very friendly and service is good.

We stayed in the chalets at Berg en Dal which was superb. The whole camp is clean and very well run. The shop is stocked well for food that was forgotten to stock on before arriving. We will definitely be back. The camp is a good base to go out on day trips in the park and we saw some...

We stayed in one of the chalets. The fridge was not working and was only replaced after we complained. Squirrels made a hole in the roof. One of them even dropped her baby on our bed! After the staff closed that hole, the squirrels just made another hole next to it. We found grass all over our bed and they...

Below is the letter i sent to SAN Parks Customer Services after our stay in Feb-17: We have been visiting the Kruger Park regularly for over 20 years and this is the first time I have felt the need to write such a letter. We recently spent 4 days at Berg en Dal Restcamp and I would like to give...
