We stayed in a three bedroomed lodge overlooking the dam. It was clean, well equipped and perfect for our stay. There is a swimming pool at the camp which was great to cool off after temperatures of 40c during the day. We had a snack and drinks at the restaurant which were fine. Nothing spectacular but enough to keep the...

We loved our 2 night stay in a 3 bedroom chalet at Mopani. The chalet was really spacious with 2 bathrooms, big living area and outdoor patio and braai (barbecue) area. Well equipped. Comfortable accommodation. Service at Mopani was good. We did not eat in the restaurant but we did have a drink. The restaurant and bar are situated right...

This camp is very good and some of the chalets over great views of the dam with abundant bird life. You do get a feeling of being in the bush when staying here. Staff also quite friendly. Game in the area are plentiful without the hustle and the bustle of the southern part of the park.

We really enjoyed the rest camp and the lovely views from the restaurants and lookout points and being closed up with a big boabab tree. We try to walk all over the place, but get lost at night! The trail next to the dam is also worthwhile.

Nice little camp in central north of the Krugerpark. All of your basic stuff available in the rondavel. Neat, tidy a little bit outdated but not to a level of annoying! Great for spotting elephants, hyena's and so on. Wellknown for the mopani bushes. Start here if u don't want to go all the way up in Krugerpark.

This is by far the best main camp in the Kruger National Park. It's nicely built into the landscape and the view from the restaurant is absolutely stunning. I highly recommend to go for a drink when the sun sets, it is simply gorgeous.

This is the 4th rest camp we have stayed in and is by far the best. It is a good 9 hour drive up from Paul Kruger Gate with stops and viewings and is a relatively small camp situated on a hill overlooking a dam. We stayed in a 2 bedded unit with 2 bathrooms, an outside kitchen, and overall...

This restcamp is miles above the rest in the Kruger. The service is fantastic, the restaurant and bar - outstanding - food, service and view wise. The rooms basic and rustic but lovely and spotlessly clean. The quaint little outdoor kitchenette and braai area attached to each unit is perfect for a summers evening. Completely enjoyable stay, my only issue...

This camp is situated almost on the Tropic of Capricorn. The camp is on the edge of a large dam, with fabulous views across the water. The around the edge of the camp all face into the bush and there is a lot of bird life. The camp itself contains a swimming pool and , of course, a shop and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
On the banks of the Pioneer Dam in the Kruger National Park, lies it's best kept secret. Named after the mopane veld that surrounds the camp, Mopani Rest Camp nestles amongst the Mopani tree covered koppies. A signature feature is the huge gnarled old baobab tree in the heart of the camp. The vegetation inside the camp is left as found in the wild, adding to the unique atmosphere of the camp. ... more   less
