If you drive there best use a 4x4 as the access is challenging in a regular car. Great location with wonderful views from the swimming pool. Looks like some rooms have been refurbished recently, ours hadn't but was OK for our needs. Best to bring mosquito spray. The breakfasts and dinners were of a very high standard. Lunches were a...

My only complaint is the infestation of mosquitoes in our room. I got 98% of my bites in our room. The staff and guides at Zulu Nyala are very good at their jobs, but if you get a choice, ask for Amon. He's trained many of the other guides, so he's quite simply the best. Every game drive as a...

Zulu Nyala – We flew from Cape Town to Durban (King Shaka Airport) on Kulula Air and when we arrived we rented a van to travel 3 hours up the coast to Zulu Nyala (ZN) Game Reserve near Hluhluwe, SA. There we paid $3,250.00 US for two, all-inclusive for 5 days. At ZN we had three rooms near the reception...

Having stayed in several game lodges, this was by far the most comfortable, if not the most exciting, but we had a great time. The accommodation was clean, comfy beds, plenty of hot water and the most beautiful swimming pool. The early morning game drives were always made interesting by the great ranger. The reserve is private, so off road...

We loved our stay here...having spent a couple of nights in an unexpectedly quaint hotel the previous nights, we felt so relieved when we discovered the beauty, the luxury, and the exceptional scenery outside our window at Zulu Nyala. We were stunned by the animals, in particular the (very) close encounter with elephants. It sparked in me the need to...

My husband and I went on this trip won at a non-profit fundraiser. (I now work for a non-profit and we are going to auction this trip at our next event)! It was my husbands first time on a safari and my second. We both loved it! The tented rooms are great unless the wind is blowing! The "roof" flapped...

In the big picture of safari places in South Africa, this is a pretty small reserve. (Only 5K acres I recall) however, they do an amazing job with what they have. We were there for a week with 2 other couples. Our guide was James and he was amazing. He really "made" our trip. Pleasant staff, decent rooms, incredible views....

The rooms were spacious and well kept. Each room had a veranda for sitting and viewing the grazing animals who came to visit. The food was wonderful with a great variety of native and "western" food available. Africa at its best!

This safari lodge provides a genuine and authentic South African experience. First of all, the staff are extremely friendly and professional. The lodge combines the natural and raw experience of live animals in their natural environment with the comforts of a clean, safe, and friendly hotel with delicious food. We had Jenine as a guide and she is extremely knowledgeable,...
