A group of 12 ladies enjoyed a visit to this historic house on the ridge above Durban. After a very informative talk on the house and area in 1849, a delicious tea was enjoyed by all. Well worth the R30 per person. This was a morning visit only.

We spent 4 nights here as participants at a conference located at the Durban ICC. While the drive to the conference center was 15-20 minutes, I was so glad that we stayed here and not closer to the convention center. The rooms were absolutely lovely, comfortable and spacious. Howard is a gem. He is pleasure to talk to about everything...

The host and owner Howard was wonderful, so helpful and kind we really enjoyed meeting him. He gave us a lot of information and we really enjoyed speaking with him. We highly...

We spent two nights here in November 2012 and were warmly hosted by Elaine and Brian. They have a beautiful home, the oldest building in Durban (dating back to 1850), and an unconditional, warm hospitality. Accommodation takes the form of a granny flat full of antique furniture and views over Durban. Lovely breakfasts and even a tour of the house,...

The house is a historical and architectural gem included on some tours of the City and the hosts, Elaine and Brian Agar, have elevated hospitality to an art form. They are discreet and will not interfere if you desire privacy, but they will be extremely attentive, knowledgeable and pleasant company if that's what you want. We are recommending a stop...

We stayed in Durban for 3 nights during the World Cup, and the D'urban Elephant House was the best place we had in our entire trip in South Africa. Luckily we had a car, so we could drive all over town, bc it's not on the beach like most places in Durban. The plus side is that two blocks away...
