I first stayed at the Balmoral hotel in December 09 it was supposed to be a four star hotel. The room was clean and the decor was tasteful. staff are very courteous, there is a limit to what they can do. Six years later Such a disappointment! What a shocker! The decor is dated and depressing. The Security staff are...

The hotel is conveniently located across from the waterfront walk. We stayed on the 2nd floor and had a good view of the beach area. Room size was large and comfortable. Hotel restaurant needs menu update since it emphasizes mostly Indian food. Great breakfast buffet comes with the room price.

My 3rd time here. Hotel is tired looking as with quite a few of Durban waterfront hotels. I stay in a single studio where the bed and TV is big enough. But there was a great lack of power points and a desk space to put a laptop down. The safe is large enough to fit only a wallet and...

The room was clean and the decor was tasteful. There is a tiny lift in the hotel which doesn't help when there are a lot of guests. The corridors smell of food which is prepared on the ground floor. There parking is only for a few cars and not enough when the hotel is fully booked.

Through the years I've been privileged to stay in many different hotels along Durban's beachfront. On my first night here, I know that I will return here - the staff are welcoming, courteous, helpful, professional. My first meal here, dinner, was delicious! Mussel chowder with croutons, flavourful and lovely; and most importantly, halaal. The cherry on top was the service....

BT when we booked mid year they told us it full. I'm just upset. We can't get any reservations from any...

It really meant mixing with work and resting after alot of up and down. It's quite close to town centre and many other shopping and eating places. Beachfront, Ushaka marine and market all close by. Try if u can with great breakfast and good staff

The hotel is below the rated 4 star! Very old hotel that has been upgraded to meet the expected standard. Though, the staff are very courteous, there is a limit to what they can do. The house keeping is not up to standard and the response rate from the reception is very slow!

First time in Durban and I have never come across such unpleasant, unwelcoming and unfriendly reception staff. Location was perfect, just what we needed for a weekend away. The room was neat, however it seemed as if it was surface cleaned.
