Situated on the seafront in Durban the old Durban Club House still looks impressive in its old Edwardian style. although there seems to be an attempt to maintain the place the impression is created that there is just not enough money to do it as it should be done. The service is friendly and efficient and I would easily stay...

This hotel is full of original features. Old wooden furniture, tiled floors and impressive furniture show its history as a gentleman's club. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is tasty and plentiful. Bedrooms are huge, clean and comfortable. Water pressure is not great for the shower. Would certainly stay again

I stayed here for about 2 nights with a friend. The hotel is quite old, moldy and smells like all old. But the beds were comfortable, the hot water worked and the staff was super friendly. The holte is right in central. So pretty convenient for getting local minibuses (called taxis) or cabs and there is free-wifi. If you are...

The rooms were stuffy, air con units were dripping water on to the old stained and smelly carpets. Its 2016 for crying out loud, whats with the carpets? You could smell the toilets all the way through the corridors leading up to the room. I wouldn't stay here again.

Durban used to be known for its nightlife and wealth! It isn't anything close to that.. I wouldn't recommend you even walk down the street by yourself to be honest. The hotel we stayed was marketed incredibly.. in fact the whole city was! The hotel was an old gentleman's club and had so much character, but was also falling apart....

This is a motel not hotel. Dont let pictures mislead you into booking a room. Why? 1. Cockroaches in the rooms, big ones small ones - gross. 2. Ants in the rooms. 3. Very small rooms, bathroom is doubtfully 1m × 3m. Shower not clean. 4. Breakfast does not form part of the stay - in our case thank goodness....

I stayed at this hotel for two nights, its very basic and looks old and dirty. I was very disappointed and did not enjoy the place at all. The reception desk people did not have answers to most questions and I was even check in to someone's room when I checked in.

Nice hotel with a tiny room. Though it had everything I needed. Most importantly it was clean and serviced daily. Though I had a long walk from the entrance to the room (via nice tea garden) it is not wheelchair friendly as there are a lot of stairs to walk.

If they can do anything in SA, it's marketing!! Look at the propaganda for this place by all means, but don't believe it. Durban centre is certainly not what it once was and that is true for this place, yes the antique furniture is there, as is the sweeping staircase, but everything is battered and bruised. Certainly don't eat here!...
