A very friendly and kitsch motel, happily pointed us in the direction of a good place to eat after a long day of driving. Very comfy beds, proper old charm and a convenient stop from the grand canyon south rim. Old Kingman is also a place to see.

I travel alot for business and leisure and have seen some horrible service in the last 30 years - but none that tops this one. After hours of driving, after dark, on my only 2 days off in months - I reserved a room for $59 late one night to stay at El Trovatore. I walked in the front lobby....

I apparently now have a Santa Cruz, CA <--> Bentonville, AR commute, so I'm getting pretty familiar with the 40 aka Route 66. El Trovatore is perfectly situated for my first night's layover. It is charming, the rooms are themed for various movie stars and such (I chose the James Dean room), the proprietors are enthusiastic and friendly. And the...

Yes this is a small and cosy hotel, but as soon as you walk in the office you are made right at home by the owner. Once we checked in he gave us a great history lesson on Kingman. The rooms are named after famous people, we stayed in the Elvis Presley room. I'd certainly stay here again.

Just stopped in to look at a room and manager was rude. Won't be staying there. Office closed in middle of the day manager rude. Don't let the paint job fool you stay somewhere else. Try to be nicer to people you meet.

OK, so your impression of El Trovatore may differ if you left your sense of humor and your sense of history back on I-40. This is not a hotel chain kind of place. It is an original Route 66 motel, lovingly restored, well maintained and full of quirks. We got to El Trovatore after driving through torrential rain at night....

This is a unique older one story motel with several buildings from the heyday of route 66. You check in at the front office with the owner and his dog and get lots of current/historical Kingman info and some entertainment too! You choose your room based a Hollywood star's name and accurate room photos in a notebook. The exterior walls...

This cute little motel gets 5 stars for charm, kitsch, and it's Route 66 address. It gets 3 stars as a motel. Combined, that works out to 4 stars for me. LOVED the cute factor of the place, the VERY friendly owners, and the themed rooms. Also liked the cleanliness, the comfortable bed, and the coffee left by the microwave....

Nice hotel that stays true to it's roots. Themed rooms that harken back to when Bob Hope and his troupe stayed here to entertain the troops during WWII. Just ask the friendly owners and they will happily share the history of the hotel and the surrounding area.

We stayed on our way from grand canyon to hoover dam. Very clean and affordable right on historic route 66. Taco the dog did his tricks for his treats. Owners were very professional and full of information about the area. Would stay here again without a doubt.
