We stayed for a week recently. This was our third visit. Our stay was simply wonderful and we hated to leave. There will be far grander hotels with superior facilities but none has the Vineyard atmosphere. The staff are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is superb. Our meal in the main restaurant was ordinary. The food...

This hotel is one of my favourites, its location in the cape suburbs is just like being at home in the UK with wonderful trees, good roads and pavements all in good repair. The hotel grounds are breathtaking with views all round.

Dear Peter Thank you for sharing your sentiments on the Vineyard. A late afternoon drink on the patio is still unbeatable. Warm regards Roy Davies

Everything was lovely with the exception of food in the Square Restaurant and Spa availability. Rooms superb and situation perfect. Grounds outstanding. Two issues. Despite being resident for 5 days there was no availability whatever in the Spa and this is an advertised facility. Some spaces should be kept for residents. The non niche restaurant food was not good and...

Before leaving the uk everyone I spoke to said wow, when I said we were staying at the Vineyard . Yes it's lovely, steeped in history obviously well respected but does give the appearance of a very well to do rest home for 65-85 year old English well to do folks bordering on " morning major " type . I know...

This hotel's location in Newlands overlooking the mountains is stunning. It has beautiful grounds which are well kept and some very old tortoises! The Breakfast buffet is extensive if a little crowded and the cooked food is actually hot. In room dining is well catered for and dinner also arrived hot. We had a very pleasant room on the ground...

We have stayed at The Vineyard on numerous occasions in the past however on this recent visit things weren't the same. The service seems to have significantly dropped off, not enough waiters on any given occasion, drinks and meals took a long time to arrive after ordering. Definitely a shortage of staff overall. Seems there's no preference given to hotel...

We only stayed for one night but we could not fault this hotel. The moment our taxi drew up the porters rushed out for our bags and took us to reception. Check in was quick and easy, our room was not ready as it was 11.30 so they suggested that we go for a coffee and they would come and...

My husband stays at The Vineyard for all his business trips to Cape Town. We stay there whenever we are in the Cape. In December we took our family there for a week. As always the hotel is a spoiling. It is elegant and we are treated so well. The breakfast area is sublime - garden views of the mountains...

Stunning setting, you can hardly believe you are in a city. The facilities are tops, service great and caters for everyone. Myogo restaurant is worth a visit, but book in advance. You need time to just enjoy the hotel as The Vineyard is a destination!

11 hour flight, tiresome car hire procedures the a 20 minute drive in unknown territory so I was ready for some R&R. It all starts when you arrive and just step out of your car. Your car is unloaded and driven away to an underground safe car park. You are ushered into a cool room for a warm reception. Taken...
