Misty Hills accommodation is very good. In fact, apart from the Intercon Hotel in Nairobi, and the Crystal Serenity cruise ship, I have never slept on such a comfy bed. I haven't been to the Carnivore (in Muldersdrift) for ages. It is still a really spectacular place to take your foreign visitors, even after all the years. I have 2... More

I had been to Misty Hills to go to Carnivore for a dinner a few months ago and was really struck with how much it resembled a safari lodge, but just outside Jo'burg rather than a few plane transfers away. I certainly didn't expect 5* luxury, but there was something perversely appealing about staying in a pretend-safari setting that I... More

Decided spur of the moment to spend one night to get away from the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg. Was worth it, right from the moment we arrived. Had lunch and Meshack kindly set a table for us outside on the grass. The room was absolutely exquisite my girlfriend absolutely loved the sunken bath

It's a shame because this hotel could be OK with some guidance and general logic. They need to start with "hotel basics for dummies". If they could do something /anything wrong or not at all this is where they excelled. It's a tacky version of Jurassic Park with prehistoric service standards. Just don't waste your money and try one of... More

Unfortunately we only spent one night at the Misty Hills Country Hotel but it made a good impression. The resort looks like a small village with huts in the woods. The bungalows were spacious and somewhat clean. There was some mould in the shower that showed that the hotel is some years old. In general it is hard to judge... More

I wanted to get away from the hussle and bussle of joburg for a weekend. This is a place iwl refer to as "mass production". It seemed to me they it care if uve come as part of the conference. I would like to express my thanks and appreciation for the service and care I received at Misty Hills Hotel from 21.10.2016 to 22.10.2016. I took my husband there, and I wanted it to be perfect. I don’t even know where to start because I feel so overwhelmed. First of all I just want to say thank you to Mr.... More

Relaxing weekend getaway. Gardens are beautiful, even with the drought, because they use grey water to irrigate. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was superb. Staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately didn't get to try the other restaurants, but dinner at Carnivore was well worth the trip.

We went for our strategic planning session for 2 days and was quite impressed with the entire outlay of the hotel. The rooms are all stunning, but the Presidential, Executive and Royal suites are a must if one can afford it. I had the privilege to sleep in the Presidential suite and I was not disappointed at all. It has... More

This time I'm giving them an excellent rating. It's one of our favourite weekend breakaway spots, and the only problems we have had in the past was making the reservation. As promised (in reply to my previous review), they have worked on their reservation process, got it right and deserve the rating!
