We had a nice stay at Saffron guesthouse. Positives: Clean room, nicely decorated Affordable All necessary amenities FANTASTIC breakfast included Good value for money Negatives: Small room Noisy area (trendy bars and restaurants in same street - lovely for those who like a vibrant night life, less ideal for weary travellers needing an early night to recuperate) Would recommend to...

Wonderful guest house, would definitely make use of the facilities again if ever in Johannesburg. Would be great if breakfast could be arranged at 6 for those who have to leave early; some bottled water every day would also be a great addition to the already great service. Staff was very helpful and really friendly.

Saffron is a very nice place to stay in Johannesburg. First, the location is perfect, you can walk to restaurants and bars of Melville and you're 10-15 mn driving from CBD, Greenside or Parkhurst. The rooms are also big and very clean. And the rates remain ok. I recommend this place to stay if you come to visit Johannesburg.

Stayed here for just one night. Friendly welcome in a very nice decorated and clean room. Location is good, next to a couple of restaurants - we ate in Lucky Bean; good food - and bars. Breakfast in cafe on 100 meters was very good - omelettes, fresh fruit, etc. Also on just a short driving distance to several attractions...

I stayed 6 nights at Saffron and would do it again. Calm and safe place. Very nice and helpful staff (Emily is great) and a delicious breakfast. At my arrival the wifi didn't work. The owner fixed it immediately and it worked from that on. Perfect place to stay and explore Joburg.

2 of us stayed at Saffron in separate rooms. We were both very pleased with the cleanliness of the rooms and the very helpful friendly staff. When returning to Johannesburg I would not look anywhere else to stay as this is perfect. The breakfast at the close cafe included in the price was also very good.
