For the two decades that I have been traveling to South Africa I nearly always start and/or end my trip in Melville. I have stayed in well more than a dozen B&B's in the area. Sleepy Gecko is one of the best. This was my first time staying there and it was fantastic -- the location cannot be beaten, my...

Excellent location just off 7th Street, close to cafes, restaurants, bars and shops. The property is safe, clean and quiet. Nigel & Greg do a great job taking care of their guests. Highly recommended!

The sleepy gecko guesthouse is a nice small one. Breakfast was good an there is a little pool outside. Around the corner there are lots of bars and restaurants and you feel safe in that area. The rooms are nice and with a freestanding bathtube. The owner is friendly and offers help if needed.

We tried to call several numbers during the day but no answer. When 1 did pick they said we had the wrong number but it is on the website! They gave us another number but again no one picked. A pity because it seemed like a nice pace to stay

The guesthouse is a bit tired and needs some work. The room was okay, but not for the price we paid - I thought it was expensive. The breakfast was dreadful - the young man in charge of the kitchen had never cooked in his life and did not know how to make scrambled or poached eggs. A trip down...

I was exhausted when I arrived at the Sleepy Gecko, and was delighted to find a lovely big bath, huge bed with down duvets and a quiet environment. It was exactly what I was looking for, and I couldn't believe the value. Breakfast was delicious, too, and the staff kindly let me leave my bag with them for a while...

Sleepy Gecko was in a great location close to good restaurants, bars and shopping. It made getting around Melville extremely easy. The rooms were nice and the staff were very friendly. We would stay here again if we were in the area.

Nice guesthouse, nice owner, the only problem was the smell in the drains in the bathroom. The guesthouse is well situated in Melville, perhaps a bit too near of the busy and festive 7th street. But even though, we had a good 3 night stay.

Hi, Thanks very much for your review. We normally drain clean every three months. I have now trained the staff to include this in the deep clean cycle. Thanks for the constructive update. My apologies for the less than excellent stay. We have been doing our best to be highly attentive to guests and their needs. I hope that you...

Feeling quite happy with the staff who is working together and seem happy to. The location is ideal for a parisian who likes to walk to the shops and restaurants. Also the pets look happy and that alone is a good sight.

The Sleepy Gecko is an excellent place to stay. Greg made sure we had everything we needed but was not at all intrusive. A really good location for restaurants and bars. We safe and taken care of while we were there. Room outstanding, as was the breakfast and pool. Would definitely go back.
