We were in Birch Tree Cottage only the night and day before leaving back home after our round trip in the North East of South Africa. We keep good memories of our stay. The bed was big and comfortable. Not to soft and to hard, just good. The best of our holiday. Not to many rooms, what I do prefer....

This way out did my expectations of a B&B! All I ask is a clean and tidy room with a reasonably comfy bed. We had the "Iris" room in the main house and it was fabulous, The room was immaculate the bed was really comfortable. The room has a small fridge, plenty big enough for what we needed it for....

I was at Birch Tree for some days before my trip back to Italy and it was a real great suprise. I was accomodated in the nice cottage which was also too big for me but enjoyed it very, very much. Clean, quiet, relaxing. I will go there for sure also the next time I will be around.

Stayed over for 1 night while in Jhb for the weekend. Enjoyed the stay. The room was very good. Neat, nice décor. The bed was very comfortable - slept well. The bathroom was also quite clean - nice shower. No aircon, but a decent fan and it was fortunately not such a hot day, so I managed. Would have liked...

Loved everything about this place! The room was beautiful, clean and very warm. Johannesburg was very cold when we were there; the room had electric blankets, extra blankets as well as heaters! Breakfast was well prepared and served on time. For the price we paid, free wi-fi was a bonus.. The owner was exceptional, she made sure we were looked...

Birch Tree is an amazing beautiful and quiet B&B, we used this recently for a long weekend for 9 people and were looked after incredibly well by Pat. She helped us with everything from directions, restaurants taxis etc. We took over the cottage which has everything you need, big bath and shower (very clean) kitchen with fridge, microwave, kettle and...

Pat du Toit excelled in ensuring our comfort. The cottage is homely, was spotlessly clean and very comfortable with full self catering facilities as well as DSTV. As we had to leave early, Pat prepared am excellent take along breakfast. Only one minor point, the curtains could have had a thicker liner to make the bedroom darker.

This lovely B&B is walking distance from the Olivedale clinic and only 5 minutes drive from Northgate shopping centre and dome. I slept very well without any disturbance, woke up and made coffee in my room while watching the morning news on my flat screen TV. Had a scrumptious hot and cold breakfast from Yvonne, the friendly manager. The staff...
