We had never been in Johannesburg before, and so chose Melville Manor because of its location. Good choice - it is only a minute's walk from the restaurants and bars of 7th Street in Melville, but offers a lovely green garden and birdsong in the morning. The area is very safe, and the offer convenient airport transfer through a very...

Good guesthouse, we really felt at home. Good service. Also good to know is that there are a lot of nice little restaurants near the place. Even in the evening they were open and we felt safe. Special thanknto Anna !

I was one of 8 squash players at world masters' squash, staying at Melville Manor. From the moment we were welcomed by Anna, we were treated extremely well and with courtesy. The rooms were adequate and clean. The food was varied, delicious, and plentiful. Any requests were attended to promptly and happily. The gardens although not large were neat tidy...

Our stay was all too brief, but we found this to be a very comfortable and quiet place to stay. We were promptly picked up at the airport even though our flight was delayed twice. Although it was uncharacteristically chilly during our quick stay, we were warm and cozy in our room. And the made-to-order breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended.

A nice place to stay when in Johannesburg: comfortable rooms, very clean, Anna and her team are very helpful and very kind! Anna helped us with taxis, and prepared us a early breakfast because we had a bus to catch very early the last day! The location is easy: you have a lot of restaurants and shops around. The breakfast...

A clean neat guest house in an excellent location. Staff were very helpful and facilitated an early morning departure with a packed breakfast. Good security. No family room so needed to have two rooms which was not optimal.Good laundry facilities.

The Melville suburb is a lovely area to stay and this traditional style guest house is a short walk from the strip where there are restaurants and shops. We stayed 2 nights in this guest house. Booking was done online a couple of months in advance with no issue. Airport transfer provided by Levi (as advertised on their website) was good - our flight was delayed by 2.5 hours and Levi waited for us at arrival lobby for the pick up. A reminder that it is best to...
