It was really nice, comfy beds, friendly staff and good wifi but the rooster of the backpackers decided to wake us up around 6am and kept coming back to the door of our cabin where he continued to scream.

I loved staying at this hostel. The owner was so cool and friendly. He had a great bar and talked to us a lot about Bill hicks and other interesting topics. The hostel is lovely and clean with a great dvd collection and also has a pool. I would recommend this hostel to anyone.

Mbizi is a relaxing, well equipped hostel with a bar and a lovely pool! My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights, and the owner Patrick was a wealth of information for onward travel, and was only too happy to help! Mbizi is in a safe area, is close to both the airport and the facilities we needed (like...

A lovely place to stay. Pat the owner was such a great character and extremely helpful. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the large space outside was great to relax and chill out in. Breakfast was basic, but did the job and was always available.

Excellent place. Stayed in December 2014. Awesome bar and entertainment area. Sports on the big screen TV. DSTV (cable tv). Well maintained gardens and pool. The owner, Patrick, is really cool and accommodating. Booked a double room, beds were comfortable, bathrooms were neat & clean. Kitchen is well equipped. We look forward to another stay at Mbizi. It truly is...

Close to the airport in a safe neighberhood. The room is simple but sufficient. The bar next to the swimming pool is great (and relaxed) though. I only stayed for one night after arriving in South Africa and flying onwards the next day. Patrick, the owner, is a very nice guy who will genuinely help you out with anything. Breakfast...

The hostel is a converted house, the guy who runs it has lived there all his life and it has been a hostel for 10+ years now so he knows what backpackers want and need. The hostel could do with a bit of renovation but its overall pretty good. I have heard nightmares of other hostels in Joberg and this...

We could not have started our trip in South Africa in a better hostel. Right when you walk into Mbizi, you feel like you're at home. Pat, the owner, is incredibly helpful, whether you need a taxi or are planning your trip, he will help and give you great suggestions for the local area and all of South Africa. The...

I stayed here for one night before I went to Sabi Sands. The hostel is located in a safe area, just outside Joburg. It has a swimming pool, which gives you some refreshment during hot summers. Breakfast is complementary, but isn't that much, just toast with jelly or butter. Owner definitely knows his way around. Next time I'm in Joburg...

I've done a lot of traveling in a lot of places in a lot of hostels...and this place is top notch. We were picked up from the airport on time and arrived at the hostel where we met Patrick, the owner. Legend. He provided us with a ton of great info and really helped us out a few days later...
