The recent 5-star reviews of this accommodation say it all. Walter is warm, welcoming and a perfect host - his home likewise an ideal place to unwind after a flight to, or transit through, Jo'burg. Nothing is too much trouble for Walter, who freely imparts his wealth of local knowledge, from restaurants, to the best butchers in town (!). Although...

Dear Vestysoffagain: Thank you so much for your review, happy to hear you enjoyed your short stay (plus the meat for the butcher, haha!). Yes, you are right, the bird sanctuary is a great place, over 235 bird varieties, and sightseeing in Johannesburg is quite interesting too. Hope to see you again next time you travel to South Africa!

We spent three nights at Impangele after a long flight from the uk. Although late at night we had a fairly straightforward drive and Walter kindly waited for our arrival. Our room was comfortable and well sized, with a great choice for breakfast. I enjoyed a few runs around the perimeter of the bird sanctuary measuring 1.5 miles, and again...

We have stayed at Impangele numerous times enroute from work in Nigeria to and from Australia. Enjoy Walter's hospitality in his beautiful home overlooking the Bird Park. Love his breakfasts, the dogs and the cosy little bar and terrace overlooking his garden. Walter is also a wealth of information on day trips and activities in Jo'burg. Just wish we could...

I can't say enough good things about my one night stay at Impangele. Great location, safe gated community, clean, Walter is a great chef and the dogs are icing on the already delicious cake. My next trip to SA just got a little easier, because I know exactly where I will be staying. Thank you Walter!

We stayed here for one night before flying home. Wished we had stayed longer, it really was great. The house is beautiful with lots of interesting artwork and books. The bedrooms were spotlessly clean with towels and toiletries supplied, also lovely bathrobes. Unfortunately it rained so we couldn't walk round the bird sanctury, but Walter made up for this by...

We stayed at Impangele 18 months ago and had such a wonderful time that it was our immediate choice on our return to South Africa. This suburb of Johannesburg is safe and quiet with excellent facilities. It is also very easy to access from the airport - just 20 minutes drive. Impangele is on a beautiful lake and is a...

We stayed here for one night prior to flying out of the country. Walter was a perfect host. The house was fascinating. I believe the dogs got a lot out of taking us for a walk in the morning. Very convenient for the airport.

We stayed here one night before going to the Kruger park and liked it a lot. We immediately felt at ease and Walter is a very amiable guy who is a natural host at the same time. The dogs are great fun and nice to have around. In the evening we enjoyed the best Braai we had in South- Africa...

The only reason not to stay here is if you can't be around dogs. The location is great - across the street from a great bird sanctuary in a nice neighborhood with quick access to the airport. The owner is a 6 ona scale of 1-5. Super guy, very helpful and fun to chat with. Best part for us, though,...

After 2 years we came back to South Africa for golfing and safari and again we spent two excellent stop overs at Impangege B&B. Walter (the owner) is a ecxcellent host. He serves every day a excellent breakfast and twice we could order a Braai (barbeque) for dinner which was also very delicious and the steaks were grilled to perfection....
