My two daughters and myself were on an overland tour starting off in Johannesburg lodging arranged by ACT. We found Jana (the manager) to be very warm, entertaining, and very helpful. Although the atmosphere was informal, I don't doubt there was an enormous amount if background work in presenting an informal environment as it was very well run. Jana, Toine,...

I stayed at Mufasa's as part of a tour. The showers were cold, there's at least five dogs and its in the middle of nowhere. The host is a lovely lady, but it'd be great if she made a few adjustments to the property.

a while back myself and a friend went on a ATC tour, we stayed at Mufasa Backpackers before our overlanding tour started. As we have been doing an around the world tour we have been to many hostels. Mufasa has by far been one of the best places. Jana (manager) made us feel at home the minute we arrived. We...

We needed to stay close to carnival city and this was the second closest available backpacker. Dodgy area (be warned) but quite nice and safe once inside. Good: Jana supplied a huge amount of wood for a bonfire and there's a bar! Bad: 'includes breakfast' = corn flakes, toast and eekie powder coffee. They don't have card facilities. If you...

While showering, the soap holder fell exposing the screw which could have been dangerous

For a couple of days I stayed at Mufasas in order to wait for my overland trip. The people working there are great I got a lot of free lifts to places to shop around here and they helped me a lot with all my questions when I had some.

We stayed here at the beginning of our safari and stayed an extra night. The property could do with a good clean. The bathroom in our room was very depressing. Towels were very thin and a bathtub that didn't have any taps. You could smell the mould coming from the bathroom with the door closed. The breakfast consists of a...

This was the starting place for my trip around Africa. Jana picked us up from the airport and was super friendly. Secure location, ok pool to dip into and decent beds. It's a little bit out of town, nothing to do in the immediate area but staff are very helpful.

Me and my friend slept there for one night in April. We were the only two guests, but they couldnt manage giving a proper service anyway. No information, no breakfast and often no one to help you in the reception. And when you asked for the receptionist or any staff nothing really happend before half an hour later. Fuethermore the...

I have been here twice now, throughout my stopovers in Joburg, and would definitely go again! Jana makes an excellent effort to assist you with anything you need and anywhere you need to go. She makes sure you're comfortable and settled in. The only problem is how far away it is from everything, but if you want to avoid Joburg...
