The facility was good, quiet and the bed comfortable. However gate security on Saturday morning was bad, the guard was sleeping and then an hour after I woke him he was playing on his mobile phone. This was disappointing.
Shabby, expecting free Wi-fi which wasn’t the case, staff supplying conflicting information, some staff condescending and unhelpful, safe broken in room, no hair dryer in room, no bar, photographs misleading.
The rooms are only available from 4pm. No one told us, so we had an early flight from Lanseria and I had to sit with my 83 year old mother - waiting for 4 hours before we could get settled. They advertise free wifi - not true. You have to pay R150 for 1GB. We were without water for 2 days with no plan of action by the staff of Brookes Hill. The overall maintenance has gone for a loop - no nice gardens and an entrance gate that broke down. Only 1 security person on the premises that must man the gate and do rounds to check if all okay. The restaurant on site only provide for breakfast - their website indicate lunch, dinner and a bar - not true. Private beach front access as on their website - non existent.
Have visited Brookes Hill from time to time over the years. It is dirty, old, dilapidated. The linen and towels are so old and discolored. Units have far more people staying in them than allowed. So noisy and quite shocking actually. Will never visit Brookes Hill suits again.
We have been to Brookes Hill many times and I think that this speaks for itself. We wouldn't keep returning unless it was a super stay which it is every time! Accommodation is clean, staff are friendly and efficient. I only wish the booking in time was an hour earlier. Otherwise 100% in every way.
