My Husband and I stayed in the John Wayne Suite upstairs and close to the balcony that overlooks main street. The suite was clean and quaint. The room had a comfortable bed and sitting area with old western movies, scrabble game and a deck of cards. Lots of nice homey touches. The location is perfect for visiting all of the wine tasting rooms, olive oil tastings and of course great restaurants. The jail trail is not too far for a quick easy hike to the Verde River. Karen does a fabulous job of providing detailed instructions and easy check-in, parking, and maintaining the historic hotel.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in the John Wayne suite. It was cute and well-appointed with a bedroom, kitchenette, and sitting room. Towels and basic toiletries ( soap, shampoo, conditioner) provided in the shower. We were just around the corner from a lovely second-story balcony, which gave us a fun place to hang out and watch the people in the evenings. The proprietor also left us coupons for a free wine-tasting and discount coupons for some local restaurants. Great location in the heart of downtown Cottonwood! Would definitely recommend!

This is a great place to stay. The room we had was fantastic. We had a ground floor room. It was neat and clean with a bit of an odd layout. This is an old hotel and I do not think the room we had was originally built as a room. We had lots of space with a kitchenette. The location is fantastic, right in the middle of Main street in old town. I wish we had had more time this trip. We will be back.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write us such a nice review. Just FYI, the original hotel is on the upper floor. What use to be 10 rooms, today is 4 suites. What is now the ground floor units under the hotel was the owners living quarters for many years. During the 80's the living quarters was split up into studios. Since my ownership , since the 90s, there have since been a lot more on going changes.

My husband & I spent a night at the Cottonwood Hotel which is located in the center of town in Historic Cottonwood. We had the Sky Watch Queen Deluxe Room and were very pleased. Room was much more like a suite. We had a livingroom area with TV, bathroom, kitchenette with dining table and bedroom. Karen Leff the innkeeper was very responsive & gave very detailed instructions on check-in, parking, etc. prior to check in. She also emailed me that the town of Cottonwood would be having an event when we were their and asked if I would like to book another night at a discounted rate. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom is a little small, but plenty of towels provided and shower water was hot. Karen also provided a discount card for the Red Rooster Café & complimentary wine tasting tickets. Our room was on the second floor and there is no elevator which was not a problem for us. Very large balcony across the front of the building which overlooks the street and had tables & chairs. Historic Cottonwood is a charming little town. Wish we had more time to stay there. Hopefully we will have a chance to return & stay in this wonderful Hotel.

We had heard of the Verde Valley Wine Trail in Arizona and were eager to explore it. A quick search of places to stay in the area brought us to the Cottonwood Hotel, located in the middle of Old Town Cottonwood. It’s one of the original buildings in town surrounded by several restaurants, wine tasting rooms and an eclectic variety of shops. (Violett’s Bakery in town is a must visit!!) Our room had all the charm and comfort we could have hoped for. Innkeeper Karen Leff was integral in saving Old Town Cottonwood and is a walking encyclopedia of the history of the town, which she is happy to share with you. Once she knew what types of things we were interested in, she pointed us to several places within an hour’s drive that we would not have otherwise discovered. There’s plenty to do, see and explore in the area! Room was awesome, clean and the beds were comfortable! We recommend Old Town Cottonwood for your next vacation and we HIGHLY recommend you stay at the Cottonwood Hotel!
