Love the Tavern Hotel! Coupled with Crema for breakfast and Bocce for dinner, you have a trip made in heaven! Their wonderful staff and luxurious rooms proved they know how to show attention to detail!
I have choices on where to spend my hard earned dollars, and the Tavern Hotel was a massive DISAPPOINTMENT! From the view of a well pumping station and trailer, to the broken vending machine (the only dining option ter 9pm), to the humming A/C and broken toilet paper holder and hair dryer. This place was definitely not worth the price! I booked my room 8 weeks in advance and was treated lake a last minute walk in referred by a discount airline. Yes, COVID, but is that really an7 excuse to screw over your customers?! It was my 20th anniversary, I just wanted a decent place to stay that wasn't my own home...I understand no room service...I totally understand no maid service...what I don't get is lipstick on a pig, which is this hotel to a tee! Super cute setting, clean rooms, but everything else about it was a bust. Front desk staff was friendly but basically zero ability to fix any issues...don't like your ground floor room with absolutely zero security? "Too bad, should have told us when you booked", even though special requests could not be made online at the time of booking. Vending machines broken? "I've never seen that before..." despite having seen no less than three dejected gusts with the same problem. The most deplorable sound proofing!! Dear lord, if you are on the first floor it is like a heard of elephants overhead! Initially I thought our upstairs neighbor was a heavy walker, but no, it is every freaking guest on the second floor! You hear every stinking footstep!!!!! Not to mention slamming doors and fights in the middle of the night. Upon check in we were told there were no daily maid services, which totally makes sense because of COVID. However, upon inspection of my invoice after check out I see that I have been charged daily service fees. Why on earth would you be charging that?? Save, yourself the aggravation and a few dollars, stay in Sedona and take a cab if you go to Cottonwood. The wine may be top notch, but this hotel is a disappointment. …
We went for the 1st time for my 60th birthday celebration. We bought the sip and stay package. We had 2 other couples with us. We all had 2nd story balcony rooms next to each other. The rooms where very clean and nicely decorated. Bed was little hard for us, but just personal preference. I look forward to staying again. The package had wine tasting ( on same street) $50 dinner credit, and breakfast credit. Plus a free welcome drink. All the food was excellent. We went to Nic's across the street and had an excellent dinner. We also rented AzWineCrawl to do VIP wine tasting at the local vineyards. Leon the owner of the AZwinecrawl shuttle was a bonus to find. We highly recommend his wine shuttle tour.
I have to say this is one of the best hotels I have stayed at in a very long time. The front desk staff was so helpful and accommodating. They truely went out of their way to make sure we had everthing we needed. They even helped my mother get her lugage to the car when we were leaving and gave us 2 bottles of water for our road trip home. The room was very clean and very comfortable. We never heard any noise from the hallway, from the room next door, or the street. It was very nice to sit by the fireplace at the enterance of the hotel with a glass of wine and people watch -- so relaxing, just what I needed. The Sip and Stay package elevated our stay to way over a level 10 (more like a 12)
We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is modern and new and the best “3 star” hotel I have ever stayed at! Great location and friendly staff. They had some great promotions going that gave us free wine tastings in town, free breakfast, discounted dinner gift cards. Will definitely be back. Do wine tasking and then stay here! VictorB
