2022 Travellers' Choice Best of the Best
The newly-enhanced Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora is a South Pacific paradise, combining the highest standards of service with ultramodern comforts and the natural ease and gracious hospitality of the Polynesian culture. Set upon Bora Bora's surrounding coral atoll, the Resort is a vast tropical grove, replete with coconut palms and pandanus trees. Meandering channels of pure turquoise lead to the main beach or to smaller lagoons, waiting to be discovered. Every vista is breathtaking. The Resort offers 108 one and two-bedroom overwater bungalow suites and seven two and three-bedroom beachfront villa estates, all designed with thatched roofs and decorated with indigenous artwork. Four restaurants offer a vast selection of creative culinary experiences, while the full-service spa is balanced by the powerful rhythms of the Pacific Ocean and the tranquility of the island's lagoon - offering an unmatched combination of relaxation and exhilaration.

First time in Bora Bora. Spent 6 nights at the Four Seasons celebrating our 25th anniversary. Of course, the location is absolutely stunning. The resort itself is very beautiful and generally well maintained. Overall, our stay was very good, however, we’ve had better experiences at other FS (Maui, Punta Mita) and similar hotels. It’s really the location and overwater bungalows that make this FS so special. Food was just average for a FS. See my OpenTable review of Arii Moana on 9/21/22. The Asian fusion restaurant (Vaimiti) was the best restaurant on the resort. We ate there twice and enjoyed it both times. The special Friday night "Fish House dinner" was decent and an enormous amount of food. The daily breakfast buffet was solid. Service at restaurants, in general, felt understaffed and just average even though the mostly local French Polynesian staff are very friendly and accommodating. Service around the beach and pool was also not to FS standards in our opinion. It was generally slow and not very attentive. We ordered a snack and a bottle of wine at the beach one day and while the food came within minutes, the wine came out about 30 minutes later. We asked for towels on another occasion and the attendant said “we ran out”. We didn’t notice any of the “extras“ (hydrating drink shots, cold face towels, snacks, etc) you normally see at high-end resorts other than one small fruit skewer one afternoon. On a more positive note, the resort doesn’t appear to be overly concerned with guests consuming their own beverages/snacks at the beach/pool area which is a nice break given the price of food and beverage at the resort. Nightlife was basically nonexistent but we knew that going in so no issue there. The resort was actually “testing” some live music acts while we were there. The “karaoke” duo was excellent! The resort “app” was hit or miss with some requests being responded to immediately; others not at all. We didn’t use the spa services but the resort allows all guests to use the two beautiful hot tubs in the spa area which we did and enjoyed. When we return to Bora Bora, we would certainly consider the Four Seasons again. However, we would also be inclined to more seriously consider other resorts in the area.

I don't know how to describe this place! especially this hotel! it is simply magnificent! From the moment they pick you up at the airport until the moment you check out, everything is perfect! we stayed in the room with a view of mount otemanu and it is definitely the best if you go to bora bora! the food, the service, the drinks everything is perfect! Without a doubt, it would be my top choice if I return to Bora Bora! If you choose four seasons bora bora you won’t regret it!

The room with a view to the mountain was absolutely stunning. It is as good as it was advertised and shown in media. The place, all areas, was kept very clean. Every staff would greet you with a smile. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay. It is not cheap but worth the experience. We highly receommend it.

We decided to travel from London all the way to Bora Bora and it was the best decision we have done in a long long time. Everything is perfection! From the welcoming staff at the airport to the transfer by boat to the stunning resort, you know you are in for a treat. The rooms are mind blowing with an incredible infinity pool and you private access to the sea, you get snorkels and swimming googles in case you forgot them. The lagoon sanctuary is absolutely out of this world with the amount of marine live you can see. The food is ever so nice and so fresh but for me the most important is how accommodating, professional and friendly all the staff is at this resort making your stay even more magical if possible

The Four Seasons is truly a five star resort. The overwater bungalow is truly a bucket list item and exceeded expectations. Be aware that there is a current so it is not easy to swim from the bungalow - luckily we had a delightful infinity pool. Which was fabulous. I highly recommend at least one in-dining meal. Eating dinner on the deck while watching sunset is amazing.

Having stayed in multiple 5star « + » hotels in recent years, I did not think I could still be impressed by a hotel. I was wrong. On top of a simply sublime property, the four seasons exceeds all one needs’ in terms of service, anticipation, and reactivity to guest needs. The beach is fantastic, the views amazing, and the food good (for French polynesia - where you will quickly find that nowhere has amazing food). You feel immensely welcomed and looked after from the moment you step in until the moment you leave. Only negatives: I would advise that guests be careful when choosing an ‘Otemanu facing’ room as in ours you could only really see the mountain from the deck, and after a general look around it appears to be an issue for most villas. Additionally, and sadly, the four seasons takes ginormous mark-ups on all water based activities, to the point that even for the most well-off among us it is worth booking yours through external contractors rather than through the hotel ($350 bucks for a two tank dive comes to mind - simply unheard of). We very much enjoyed our stay and would heartily recommend it.

We absolutely made the right choice in picking the Four Seasons to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. The resort was beautiful with views galore, most especially of Mt. Otemanu. Our Over the Water Bungalow Lagoon View room was well-appointed and lovely. The cleanliness of the resort and how they maintained such a standard throughout the day is impressive. What's even more impressive is the level of service. The entire staff is so hospitable and really made you feel genuinely welcomed! They went above and beyond when twice my husband lost something in the water and they were so quick to retrieve both items. Really loved the cabanas and just how you cozy they were. Equally enjoyable were the fresh coconut juice served daily during breakfast. We really made use of the kayaks and stand-up paddle boards. The grounds are immaculate. Can't wait to return hopefully someday soon.

We were at this property for my babymoon (with a 2 year old toddler). They did everything to accommodate our needs - arranging child friendly tours, water activities, fulfilled specific room requests (crib, baby towel, shampoo etc). The best of our stay was its nanny service. The resort works with Bora Bora ChildCare Service and we loved their service! Our daughter had such a great time with Maja. She took her around the resort, showed her a great time, swimming in the pool, playing in the kids club, had lunch with her, and gave her bath/shower whenever needed. It was above and beyond our expectation. My husband and I are already talking about going back there in the near future!!

I found Maja’s services through the concierge at the Four Seasons in advance of my arrival to Bora Bora. I travelled alone with my son, 4 years old, and the Four Seasons kids club has a 5 year age limit for kids to be left alone. I could not have been happier with Maja. My son immediately took on to her and they spent the mornings / lunch / nap together exploring the beauty of the resort grounds and playing in the club. Maja is so much more than just a babysitter. She incorporates fun learning games and activities into the daily routine, is patient and playful and will definitely make any parent’s stay on the island super relaxing as you will know your little one(s) is in excellent good and competent hands. Maja was always on time and very flexible to accommodate changes in our schedule to the extent her own schedule permitted and just all around lovely to be around. As a parent of a toddler and having travelled to numerous island destinations around the world alone with my son, Bora Bora will be high on my list as a return destination not only because of its incredible beauty but also because I know I always have the best care for my son while I am there. Maja - See you next time! Bjorn and Liam 🙏
