I stayed one night at the Manuka Lodge on my recent trip to New Zealand. The lodge is extremely comfortable and the owners are very welcoming. The lodge is located in a quiet neighborhood with very easy access to the town. I even walked into the town at night to get an evening meal. I would recommend the Manuka lodge...

We stayed at Manuka Lodge one night last April arriving from TongariroNP. Ohakune is a winter city, probabily very crowded during ski season. Manuka lodge is very good accomodation with confortable rooms and well equipped ensuite bathroom. Breakfast was very good with fresh fruits, yogurth, homemade marmelade and cooked meals.

Ohakune's claim to fame is that it sits at the bottom of Mt Ruapehu (part of the Tongariro National Park). We had scheduled this stop as our outdoorsy part of our honeymoon due to the great walks and kayaking in the area but wanted somewhere cosy to spend our nights. As it was it there was bad rain and snow...

Lots of places claim to welcome you and help but Susie and Alan really do. Calmly flexed with changed arrangements, booked dinner, great breakfasts, just thoroughly nice people. Great location too: quiet but close to town. Highly recommended.

Alan and Susie became instant friends. They were incredible to our family and our needs. We have a son with Special Needs and they did everything to make our stay incredible and his comfort was high priority for them. All of their suggestions for eating and things to do were spot on with what we wanted to accomplish and experience....

Very nice B&B in quaint town near Mt Ruapehu volcano. Our family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers stayed two nights at this B&B. We were hiking the Tongario Crossing and the town of Ohakune served as our base for that activity. The hosts Alan and Susie were wonderful and the property was first class. We enjoyed excellent cooked breakfasts...
