I'm always happy to see, that it IS possible to run a great hostel. We stayed in the new building and it was fantastic. The beds were a bit noisy, though, but the facility, kitchen, etc. was amazing! Staff was friendly and helpful! Highly recommended place!

Booked a private room for two and it was really nice - great bed, good pressured shower and great views. Was perfect for two of us for a couple of nights, would definitely recommend. Although on the edge of the town, nearer to the supermarket and some restaurants compared to others - ideal spot

Great place. Affordable. Comfortable. Spacious room for backpacker stay. Nice clean bathrooms and kitchen. Continental breakfast was good. Booking said free WiFi but had to pay for it when got there so didn't use it.

We felt so much at home here in the small town of ohakune. The hostel is beautiful and there are plenty of outdoor activities as well as indoor entertainment! Make sure to do the tongoriro crossing whilst your here and don't miss out on the old coah road mountain bike trail! Martin and Amanda are great!! Thanks for having us!!

Unless you are a hardcore skier / snowboarder having to conquer every winter season and mountain, I would advise to give Ohakune a miss and base out in Taupo for Whakapapa for more competitive rates and service. This town has 2k people serving up to 20k visitors (according to LKNZ innkeeper) so you won't get far looking for great deals.... More

$90 for a tiny room with a small lumpy roll together double bed that was pushed up against the wall. Not good. I live in Taupo and it is half of that price for a much larger room and more comfortable bed.

We stayed in Ohakune for 4 nights at LKNZ lodge in the Private Ensuite Rooms upstairs. We had a fantastic stay whilst there. The facilities were great, the rooms were small but cosy. The amenities including the $10 Spa bath and a drink deal couldn't be overlooked. By far, the greatest thing about LKNZ was the staff. Each of them... More

My wife and I booked this place, the next day they rang me up and told me the room was unavailable but they had another room we could have. At first I agreed not knowing exactly what we were in for. My wife unhappy with this rang to cancel the accommodation so we could get something better suited to us... More

Hi Joshua, LKNZ called you first thing the day after you made your booking to let you know the BED TYPE request was not able to be met, instead of a double and bunk, only a 2 bunk room was available. The manager was told this was fine by Joshua. Please understand the room you booked through Booking.com 'Quadruple Room... More

Well I have just checked out of LKNZ and what an amazing stay, I couldn't have possibly enjoyed my time as much as I did by staying their.
