Minh was such an amazing host! Even waited up for us to welcome and make sure we got to our rooms safely at 3.30am when our bus got in. Comfortable rooms, but the best part was how accommodating Minh and his family were to making sure we had a great stay in Sapa. Thanks so much!
This hotel is a nightmare. Room was dirty and mouldy and the water was cold and I am pretty sure that the reviews on booking. com are all fake. There was no window in the room. The bathroom was wet and dirty. The bedsheets were full of stains. And I read this in a previous review: 'To top it off, shortly after we checked out the booking was canceled on booking.com so we were unable to leave a review on there. My suspicion is the manager knew we were unlikely to write a good review and did this on purpose, and probably does regularly, to give a positive bias on the hotels ratings.' The exact same thing happened to us as well.
We stayed here for 2 nights 2 weeks ago. The staff were lovely and polite however we were disappointed with the room and the way the hotel have gone about their business in a dishonest way to achieve a high rating on booking.com..... The room was small, and windowless (the window you see in the pics is into the corridor/stairwell). The shower was basically a shower head on the wall between the toilet and sink (no pictures on booking.com, but there is one on here from someone else). We did show a little dissapointment at first but were neither rude/angry to the hotel and just got on with it as were only there 2 nights. The room also smelt of damp. And worst of all there was a small-ish hole in the bathroom to the outside (for a vent) which meant we were kept awake by cockerals outside all night and had 2 of the worst nights sleep possible. The rooms were definately not sound proof as per description and could here the family next door lots. There was also no safety deposit box. The room was clean though and the staff were pleasant to us, and we were able to leave our luggage while we waited for our bus, albeit, the desk/shop in the front of the hotel was being watched by someone taking a nap. To top it off, shortly after we checked out the booking was cancelled on booking.com so we were unable to leave a review on there. My suspicion is the manager knew we were unlikely to write a good review and did this on purpose, and probably does regularly, to give a positive bias on the hotels ratings. I suspect the triple/family rooms are nicer from what I can see from other reviews. I held off from writing a review on here wanted to do through booking.com, but unfortunately booking.com have not followed through with their promise of sending me a link to do this. Overall, if you're on a budget this hotel is on par with a hostel for comfort but we experienced much better hotels for the same price elsewhere in Vietnam.…
This is the second time, we still stay sapa new orient hotel. This is nice hotel, clean, comfortable. All staffs were very helpful, kindly. Specaially, They allways smile, welcome us. I will came back this hotel next time. Recommend
Our trip to Sapa was excellent that’s to our host Hao. She organised everything for us and was very accommodating with letting us stay during the day. If you need s good cheap hotel stay here. Very close to some good restaurants and coffee shop. Local market just around the corner.
We stayed in October , When we arrived They smile welcome us, Staff friendly, helpful, answer all my question. The room was also very clean, warm, great smell. would recommend staying sapa new orient hotel.
We stayed in October for 3 nights. When we arrived we were shown to a room which smelt of damp and cigarettes. The room was also very dirty. The power in the room short circuited, and the fan actually began smoking. We asked if we could move rooms, mainly due to how dirty it was. We then moved to a room at the back of the hotel. This room was also very dirty, especially the bedding which was damp and mouldy. One positive though is that the bed was comfortable. There were also cockroaches everywhere in the room - crawling all over the floor and furniture. We’ve attached photos of them living in the plug sockets!! In this new room the door to the bathroom was broken, meaning it didn’t shut at all. Although this isn’t a huge problem, it was made more annoying by the fact there was no glass in the window in the bathroom. It was just a hole in the wall and bugs/mosquitos could just come in. We couldn’t even close the bathroom door to stop them coming into the room. We told the manager the TV in our room wasn’t working, and she told us none of the TVs work in any of the rooms - probably shouldn’t advertise the room as having a TV then with a movie streaming service. Every time we went out we had to leave the key to our room on the side in reception, as the manager said she didn’t like the keys to be taken out of the hotel. There was no safe in the room, so nowhere to leave valuables and then the key to our room was just left on the side of reception for anyone to access. Overall definitely wouldn’t stay here again, and would recommend staying somewhere else. …
