The owner is super nice, the breakfast menu is good and cheap and the dorm room was great. Hot shower, big locker, good mattress a d curtain for each bad for privacy. Had a really good stay! The area was really close to the center, but yet, very quiet, along the road some cheap restaurants and outdoor shops.

The Cloudy Mountain Hostel is a great place to stay while visiting Sapa. We stayed for 9 nights and we would have stayed longer if the weather was better. The best thing of all was the host family; they made our experience great with their kindness and hospitality. They gave us a room at 7am when we arrived, at no additional cost.... perfect after a night on the bus. They asked us to chose another room if we want when bigger rooms came free. They offered us fruits, etc and helped us with other logistics. There is so much accommodation to chose from in Sapa, but this family will make your stay special! The rooms are spacious and clean, and you have all the comfort you need (hot shower, soft mattress, Tv if you need, good wifi, toiletries, tea, hair dryer, etc). They also serve nice and cheap breakfast but mainly at weekends as the family is at work/school during the week. The guesthouse is a 10min walk up the hill from the main square but everything is within walking distance in Sapa. One small tip: rooms at the back are less noisy (the street in front could get at times noisy because of the Vietnamese style of driving ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ™‰). Highly recommended!

The hotel was nice, clean and well situaded. Bedrooms were also OK. But what gives the golden meal to this hotel is their staff, specially the little ones Tu and her brother. Feel free to ask them anything as their English is really good as well as their knowledge. Hope to see them again! Joan and Ignasi

Big and clean rooms, hot water, good wi-fi, cable TV, kettle for hot drinks. Good location. Back rooms are a little quieter. The owners charming daughter seems to be the only one that speaks English. The don quixoti bar / restaurant, just 200 meters down the hill, has cheap good food and drinks.

If you are sick of hard beds (like we were), you will cry with happiness when you come here. Family is amazing and giving! The owner's English is not that good, but the daughter can speak quite well! The rooms are basic, no heating - but very hot showers, warm blankets (we were offered more of them if we were cold). Free tea available. No breakfast or any chance of food. They helped us to get a very good motorbike - and they came to us to drop it of from the agency. We loved it - fell like home.

This is the definitely the best place we've stayed at in whole south-east Asia! The family is so charming that we felt at home immediately. The daughter speaks very good English and will help you out with anything. The rooms are very clean, very warm showers and comfortable beds with electrical blanket if you get cold feet at night. It's only a 5min walk from the city center but enough distance to it that you don't get all the noise from karaoke bars and traffic! Highly recommended!

This location was quintessentially quaint! My partner and I were greeted warmly upon arrival, and shown upstairs to our room. The room was spacious and well-stocked with any amenities we might need: electric blanket, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, etc. The en suite bathroom was also spacious and had a steaming hot shower. The whole stay was very comfortable and cozy. We enjoyed chatting to the family during the evening as they sat by the fire in the living area. It's a bit of a trek up the hill, but there are amenities and shops close by, so you are in want of nothing. Highly recommend this place! Thanks!

We stayed at the cloudy mountain hostel for 2 nights during winter time. The girl at the reception was very welcoming and nice but sadly the room wasn't at all. The floor, the blankets and the bathroom were very dirty and the room isn't much isolated, so the nights were cold. We got enough blankets though but all of them with stains and hairs on them. We didn't pay much (15$/night) compared to the hotel prices (50$+/night) but at least they could've cleaned the rooms and provided clean bedsheets.

We stumbled across this place online and we're very happy with the value ($13 US/night). It seemed to be a family run hostel and they were very friendly. It was very cold the night we were there. We could see our breath in the room. However they had electric blankets to keep us warm and it worked great. Hot water for a shower.
