We chose to stay at the Sapa Clay House based on its photos and reviews, and we are so glad that we did. It was an absolutely magical experience. The view of the mountains and the rice terraces were spectacular and uninterrupted, and everything about our stay was exactly what we hoped for and more. The family/staff who own and run the retreat are extremely kind, accommodating, and made us feel at home. The food was authentic to the region, fresh and locally sourced (most of the herbs and veggies came from their garden) - each meal was delicious. They helped us organize our transportation to and from the town centre, as well as arrange a local trekking guide to take my husband and I through the terraces and villages, which was a spectacular experience. The rooms had everything we needed and were very comfortable and clean. Sapa and the Sapa Clay House is special, and we can't wait to go back.

It was not long enough to enjoy in Sapa this trip. 4 days and 3 nignts were absolutely incredible memories in Sapa Clay House. I were treated as family and valuable guest at the same time. Everything were definitely perfect from the food to seneries , weather and service. Right in front of the bungalo was breathtaken views with blue sky, white clouds , dark green mountains and stairway green rice feilds. What a wonderful heaven place! The room was decorated with customized local culture and their significant valuable arts. The bamboo bathtub was designed for two people with wide window for a great sky mountain view. Besides all of these, the local cusines were made with care and in house garden organic supplies such as vegetables, chickens, flowers, mints.. ect.. so much more.. Mr Manh Vu , the clay house owner , is very friendly, caring and dedicated man. He guides us around the areas, trekking 15 km along the mountain and rice fields through Mong villages , eating local dishes at lunch, trying batik drawing with Mong instructor and bathing with Mong’s red herbal… ect.. i am truely appreciated Mr Manh hosting giving such a wonderful experience during my short stay. “ come and enjoy what i have been experienced in Sapa Clay House, you will never regret and be back again” Tracy

Manh, I’m packing for my return to Canada from my wonderful trip to Vietnam. I managed to spend time in various locations but my highlight was Sapa! Your local knowledge and hospitality was shocking. It’s hard to find a host so dedicated to sharing their culture with others. The 15km trek through the countryside was amazing. Meeting different indigenous groups, eating their food and learning some of their ancient art was incredible. Everything about my stay at your retreat was 5 star ⭐️. The food was authentic Vietnamese which I love but there was also western choices for those travellers that miss the taste of home. The dining area, my room, gym and spa were all beautifully decorated in local art and tapestries. The landscape was breathtaking as well. There were vegetables growing, fragrant flowers lining the pathways and butterflies and dragon flies dancing in the air. If you’re looking to recharge your batteries from the hustle and bustle of everyday life then this is the place to stay!! I can’t wait to come back. Jim

Book it now. This homestay is amazing. It is owned by a family and they all are amazing human beings!!I don’t even know where to start on this review. Food:My child is a picky eater and we both loved everything we ate here it was fantastic and it will not be forgotten. Room:We stayed in the seasonal house with the small balcony. It wasn’t quite a balcony in the traditional sense but it still had a fantastic view so I am not complaining at all it was fantastic!!It was clean , had AC, the bathtub was amazing for soaking and is a shower as well. The bed was comfy and I love the decoration. Grounds:The garden and grounds are immaculate .I can not even begin to say how perfect the infinity pool was!!The views are everything it’s so picturesque. It’s maintained very well and we had it to ourselves. Staff:Everyone we ran into was extremely helpful and accommodating.Super professional!!They helped with luggage, made sure we were picked up and taken to the correct locations ,we even got some Vietnamese language lessons. I love love love love love Sapa Clayhouse!!!! It is just like Topas ecolodge as far as the pool and views for half the price and a more homey personal touch feel. It’s like staying with family! Thank you So much for an unforgettable experience!!!

This is very cute and peaceful place with a nice view. Rooms are very clean and smell wood. But the most important is the staff! The staff is very polite and kind, so welcoming and smiling faces. The food is very delicious, if you stay at this hotel , you should eat all of your meals here! I love this place and would like to come back again!

This was the highlight of our Vietnam-trip, and frankly of all our trips. The food was amazing, the bamboo-hut was the perfect match between luxurious and low-key, and the view was perfect. But what makes this place stand out so much, is the family that runs it. They were SO helpful in planning our days, and we were very happy with all the trips they booked for us - especially because the guides and drivers all spoke English fluently. We often found ourselves relaxing in front of the restaurant with the view, playing with the four dogs, that also live there. And during this time, the family was again very generous with their time, and we often found ourselves talking with them, when we sat there. After our 4 day stay, we were very sad to leave this wonderful place and the amazing people, that we now consider our friends. Sapa Clay House gets out utmost recommendations, and we will definitely be coming back!

My friend and I had such an exceptional time in the executive suite at Sapa Clay House. Set high in the Sapa hills, we stayed for x3 night’s overlooking the rice paddies. We seemed to have all weather types, but there was plenty of opportunity to enjoy the view and nature. As well as the herbal bath, the stand out attraction for me was the food. Each meal was sublime and, as a vegetarian, I was well catered for. The staff are attentive and efficient and simply made the trip the perfection it was.

Sapa Clay House looking out to the cloud sea and the roof of Indochina- Fansipan Mountain. Breathtaking! That's the word! In here, meals become Food Art, and services become Fine Care. Beyond that, I wholeheartedly adore anh Manh- owner - the master chef and his team working with heart in every detail of the masterpiece- Sapa Clay House, and being so careful and helpful to us also. 1. View - We stayed 2 nights/ 3 days but couldn't get enough to enjoy the incredible views of cloud sea, the sunrise right in front of our eyes, as if we were on the top of sky, or somewhere in paradise, no dull moments despite the foggy weather in here, I swear! I love the infinite swimming pool looking straight to the sunset over Fansipan Mountain. 2. Interior - everything is made handicraft, recycling and most creative way ever, when we found out the lots of interiors are made from used tools as an old wooden boat, plywood container boxes which I could never think of, it's a journey to discover the materials and say WOW many more times!!! Love our Suite Room with cosy and pastel colors, bringing us feeling of relaxing ! 3. Food Art - IT'S FOOD ART with organic, fresh ingredients straight from FARM to TABLE! We loved the pizza base made of sticky rice, such amazing to try, the smoked salmon with hot stone to keep heat, French Toast, Rice with Chicken... the chef brought us many dishes to say WOW again and again and the food kept us stay to enjoy. If only staying for food, it's the best trip also! Thank you for being Sapa Clay House, being amazing! Must-stay hotel/ resort at least once in your life !
