Sorry everyone - please do not believe all the hype about this place. While the location is amazing, relaxing and the staff is very friendly, you need to be a bit cautious about a few things. Trust me, the STAFF is WONDERFUL - esp the surf guys. But if you are looking to have a lifestyle experience - with real surf instructions and real yoga, this wasn't the place for me. - The surf lessons are average at best. Esp if there are a lot of beginners with you. I guess this is not their fault. But one day we had 12 people in the white waves class. So very little attention paid to you. Also, they claim there is video analysis, but its only on Thursday! WTF? False advertising? And we only spent about one hour in the water. Most of the time we are waiting on the beach while the instructors are hanging with the other surf camp people. Meanwhile, all the other beginner classes are already in the water. - The yoga is horrendous. While Danelia is such a sweetheart, the yoga is more stretching then pure yoga. You can tell that she is making things up as she goes. And when you look around, everyone's posture is so bad. Half the time her dog is running around scaring people. Danelia true asset is she is a great person to chat with. Find some time to talk to her afterwards. Go to the practice instead. Wow, what a studio! But she should not be teaching yoga. - Be careful of the "classes" - its not like they have a dedicated boxing instructor, aerial yoga, muay thai. You need to book everything in advance and they might not show up. So make sure you get everything documented on email before you pay. - They claim this amazing healthy breakfast. Sorry, but its just eggs or an acai bowl. Come on people - just because you are not eating McDonalds doesnt mean its healthy food. All of the other campers that I spoke with also had a few complaints here and there. But overall I think everyone liked their experience. I dont mean to be mean, but I think its important that people know the facts before they book. And not just read the "Eat, Pray, Love" types who think everything outside the corporate office is amazing.…
I traveled to Bali alone for my 25th birthday, and I am so glad that I ended up staying at Mondo. The environment makes it a great place for solo travelers. Each day after surfing the whole "village" gathered to drink bintangs, play guitar and cajon, and relax. The Mondo team made me feel so welcome and special on my birthday with a cake. Our surf and yoga instructors were fantastic. It was my first time in Bali, but I wanted to spend all my time at Mondo or on the beach where we surfed. Signing up for extra activities (messages, trips, aerial yoga, etc.) was incredibly easy. The Merapi room was gorgeous and so comfy. Even the food (especially breakfast) was fantastic. TL;DR: I will absolutely be coming back to stay at Mondo again. The community environment and atmosphere are incredible. The staff are top-notch. I've never felt so at ease while on vacation. I cannot recommend Mondo more highly. Thank you for the extraordinary stay!…
Really enjoyed my stay at Mondo, excellent yoga classes twice a day with Danjela, awesome Aerialyoga class (wish I‘ve had more of them) - I greatly improved my surfing skills with the Mondoboys (especially Agil, Bagus, Budy, & Bagass who were always singing and in a good mood - small but strong like bamboo hahah) special thanks also to Tio who was always able to catch our best moments on camera - record our progress and always took care of my stuff;) Viria & Nancy at the reception were always helpful and able to arrange everything I wished for- thanks for that as well. The photographyclasses were really professional and I was able to improve my skills in that matter. The Massage at the Resort in this Little Hut with tropical sounds was the most relaxing thing after Surfing And last but not least - thanks to Ari - the best driver;) I really enjoyed my stay at Mondo - and wish to return one day;) I‘m going to miss all of you guys. Terima Kasih for everything. X Kathi…
The place is beautiful, really quiet and relaxing. Everything is looking good and a great Pool. The Garden and the Rooms totally clean.Really nice Staff arround and the Yoga-Teacher Daniela is amazing. Everytime again, pleasure to stayed there Thanks a lot
Nothing but the best experience at Mondo. First time to Bali and Nensy was super responsive and helpful while organizing the trip. My friend and I stayed 7 nights, surfed 6 days, morning wake up yoga, surf, BJj and Muay Thai I. The afternoon. Morning yoga was to wake You up and restorative at night. Food was excellent, relaxing chill vibe and great community of people. The morning communal breakfasts were always fun. Surf Instructors “The Boys” were excellent in helping me gain more confidence in the water. They were inclusive of everyone, with a good nature and hospitality outside of surfing which added tremendously to the experience. We left for a week, came to surf and hang out with them the last day.
