3 Best Friends celebrating life after life threatening illnesses; could not have fulfilled our dreams without the two best guides in Alaska from Alaska Fishing Lodge -Wilderness Place Lodge. Scotty and Shawna fulfilled a trip of a life time; with the best fishing experience one could ask for in the Alaskan wilderness. Talking about eating like King's; Shawna is a... More

Our holiday in Wilderness Place Lodge was spectacular. Atmosphere, hospitality, guide and fishing was amazing. Jason and back of house staff created a home away from home feeling. Dereck and his team created fantastic meals, particularly freshly caught wild Alaskan King salmon. Our two nights stay in Solitude island was unforgettable. Thank you and see you again.

Before you read this post, I would like to mention that I'm a guide part time in Boone, NC and a student at Appalachian State. As I sit here looking back on my stay here at WPL, I can't even think of the proper way to go about describing my trip. I don't think a single word can better sum... More

We travelled to Wilderness Place Lodge all the way from New Zealand on a bucket list trip. We were not disappointed. All our expectations and goals were met. The friendliness of the staff, fantastic facilities and epic fishing made this a trip we will never forget. We will certainly be back.

It's hard to pick the best thing about WPL - but if I had to, I'd say it was their staff. I have gone on two great trips there - and both have been "off the charts". The cabins are nice, clean, and very nice Tempurpedic beds. The food? 5 star gourmet, all the way. Flat out amazing, given that... More

First time to Alaska for my husband and I; John put a lot of effort into researching where we should go. All reviews for WPL were so positive, it had to be this place. From the moment we arrived, I was impressed. The location, the cabins, the food, everything was amazing! But the most impressive thing to us was the... More

Just completed our first trip to wilderness place lodge. Came with high expectations given trip advisor reviews, and we were not disappointed. This time of year is almost exclusively king salmon which was challenging but a great experience. The staff takes its lead from the owner Jason, who is very personable and always checking in to make sure everything is... More

I only had time for a single day of fishing on Lake Creek with the Wilderness Place Lodge but it was absolutely terrific. Noah was an outstanding guide, not just because I caught fish (though I did) but because the whole day was so enjoyable. All the staff went out of their way to be helpful and friendly, the facilities... More
