This place is the best! A wonderful lodge on the banks of Finger Lake in Alaska, nestled in the foothills of the Alaska Range. The folks are the most friendly and warm people in the planet and the food was simply to die for! In the middle of winter and off the grid - the place was toasty and luxurious....

The Winterlake Lodge is located at Finger Lake, a checkpoint on the Iditarod Trail. it is incredible beautiful and accessible only by bush plane or snow machine. The lodge and cabins are wonderful and unique. The staff is world class, and the cuisine the same. Carl and Kirsten, the owners, and their family and other staff are outstanding hosts. We...

We absolutely LOVE this place. It is a rustic 5 star plus Lodge which manages to pull of intimacy, fantastic food and unforgettable experiences in one magical spot. My wife and I flew into Anchorage. From there the two of us got into a float plane and flew over 100 plus miles of complete wilderness to Winterlake Lodge. We were...

We spent quite a bit of time researching Alaska lodges, with numerous searches, reading reviews, etc. etc. After all of that, Winterlake stood out as our top candidate for a visit. We were not disappointed. Note that arriving there is subject to weather suitable for the float plane you take to get there. The helicopter shuttles to any number of...

Our float plane landed us at the lodge jetty where we were welcomed by McKenzie and Tony (lodge managers) and the team, we were promptly settled in to our cabin and off on...

Tony and McKenzie, the Managers, did a wonderful job. The helicopter experiences to fly fishing and river rafting were fabulous. Save enough $ do to both!...

I've waited months to write this review because I've been searching for words adequate to describe our experience; alas, I fear I have failed. The entire staff at Winterlake were so exceptional that the experience itself is the only way to appreciate them. Everything from the three chefs preparing gourmet meals daily to the behind the scenes front-of-house employees were...

Wow, what an amazing trip! We spent five days at the Winterlake Lodge, as the first guests of 2015. We were part of a http://ttlalaska.com Photo Trek with famed photographer Jeff Schultz, covering the Northern Lights 300 Dog Sled Race. The entire stay (and Photo Trek!) was superb. The flight in from Anchorage was a bit bumpy, but landing on...
