Don't even look anywhere else, seriously. The Black Bear Inn sits directly on the water and has the most beautiful sunsets imaginable. The rooms are spectacular, with large windows and porches overlooking the water. The deck is filled with flowers and is perfect for early morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. There is also a huge...

We stayed three nights in August 2016. It was a memorable visit and we would have stayed more, but there was no availability. Jim and Nicole are fantastic hosts. The inn is beautiful, clean, well kept and accommodations are amazing. Our room had water views. Two separate nights one guest provided salmon and cooked for everyone. It was so much...

This inn is fantastic! Very comfortable and well maintained. Jim and Nicole, the inn keepers, take excellent care and pride of their inn. Nicole helped me book a hire car for a couple of days and the float plane excursion over the Misty Fjords with island wings, which was absolutely amazing! Excellent advice was given for what to see and...

Just finished an excellent 5 days! The level of detailed care Nicole and Jim give each guest is fabulous. The Inn is perfect, beautiful rooms with gorgeous views, close to the town and restaurants yet far enough to easily get to hiking trails. Their knowledge of the fishing captains, float plane pilots & restaurants gave my husband and I great...

Nichol and Jim were the perfect hosts. I only wish our schedule allowed us an additional day or two. Super comfortable and relaxing environment. Full kitchen and living room and several uniquely appointed bedrooms with their own personalities.

After finally planning my return trip to Alaska after 37 years I spent some time researching a place to stay and the Black Bear Inn is PERFECT. The hosts are locals who know their island, where to go and what to see when you are there. We visited during off season and the accommodations were warm, inviting, clean and well...

Stayed at the Black Bear Inn September of 2015 for deep sea fishing and sightseeing. This Inn is in a great location, right on the water where you can watch the ships come in and the whales play right from your room or from the patio. The owners, Nichole and Jim, were excellent hosts and went well above and beyond...
