Sorry to say after the positive reviews my husband and I had several issues at this hostel, the main one being there were long term people staying in the dorms & a fellow female traveller & myself were quite concerned about the unusual behaviour of the longer term woman in our dorm. Also be aware that the kitchen is shared...

The Ketchikan Hostel is a good choice to stay for a night in town. It is run by a couple, Paul and Patty, and is located in a church. This place appeals most to guys like me who are travelling alone, exploring Alaska. Although I was there 2 nights, (one coming and one going), I did not see any women...

This is a great place to stay while in Ketchikan. Very knowledge, kind and accommodating hosts. The only downside is that you cannot get in to the hostel between 9-5, but there's so much to do in the town it's really not that big of an issue. This is an excellent place to rest during your trip!

Stayed on 2 separate occasions for about 6 days total while I visited the sites in the area. Conveniently located in a church one block from visitor center in downtown, Public transportation to ferry and all attractions in Ketchikan is one block away. This was a big benefit for those on a budget. The docents were different on the different...

My family and I spent three nights at the Ketchikan hostel, and it was very nice. Marvin the host was very helpful. The kitchen facilities were very good as well. I appreciated the gender separate dorms even though I was with my wife and three adult kids. The bathroom facilities were clean (users helped assure that was the case by...

I recently stayed for 2 nights at this hostel and the hosts really made the place fantastic. Paul was great, very friendly with spot-on suggestions for places to get good food and beer (and we arrived hungry from a 3-week kayaking trip!); also Evelyn the minister offered to bring our gear to the ferry terminal when it cam time to...

Ketchikan was my first stop in Alaska. And so far this hostel was the best. Perry and Paul were great hosts, friendly, helpful, everything I needed. The hostel was ok, basically I'm a camper, but in Ketchikan I didn't have a chance, so the two things I expected - a bed and a clean bathroom -, I had. For an...

The Ketchikan hostel was a lovely home for three days in Ketchikan on a budget. The couple running the church hostel, Patty and Paul, were the COOLEST. Very kind and helpful, with many tourist suggestions. Everything was very clean and pleasant. I would definitely return.

This hostel is within a church and does have a daytime lockout. During the day the church runs other activites, but those activites occupy separated spaces and hostel areas are kept secure and locked. The hostel at present has an friendly, helpful manager keeping everything well organized. Parishioners sometimes donate homemade cookies. There is free coffee. Spacious, well equipped kitchen....
