Wow, did I get lucky or what? I needed a place to stay while in Homer and came upon Alpenglow by chance. Rich, the proprietor is THE nicest person and so so helpful. I stayed in the cabin that is on his property and it was GREAT. The views are unmatched and I seriously could not stop taking pictures. There...

The chalet looks nice on the surface but there are real issues of neglect. The owners have it for sale so no interest in your stay. The beds are beyond horrible. Almost impossible for two people to sleep together. The towels had a smell. Broken chair in the entry. No internet which was a problem because your phone won't connect...

A wonderful chalet five minutes from downtown Homer and about fifteen minutes from the "spit" !! With awesome views of the mountains and water. This chalet has a loft that will sleep two, downstairs will sleep four and the main level sleeps two. With two bathrooms and a large kitchen it worked great for our family. This is nothing fancy...

My friend and I stayed in the cabin for one night last week and we were disappointed with our stay. The pictures on the Alpenglow website are clearly from an early time as the cabin is extremely outdated, worn, and dreary. It's simply not what you would expect for the price we paid. The linens and bedding felt old and...

Our business team stayed here for a full week at the end of July 2015. Liz was a great host and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Nice views from the chalet and it was roomier than we expected. The gas grills were really nice and the kitchen was pretty well stocked. Clean and comfortable! Homer is...

My family and I stayed in the lower part of the chalet. To say the least, we were very dissappointed with our stay. I'll simply list the reasons why: -The lower part of the chalet should not be offered as a private rental. You can hear every step, every thump, and every vocalization coming from whoever is staying on the...

I am sorry you were disappointed with your stay. Below I have attempted to address your concerns: Unfortunately I can only request that the upper level occupants not make excessive noise when they check in.Their subsequent actions are out of my control. In the future , I would suggest you call the owner when there is excessive noise , so...

I booked in February for accommodation in July!!! - , went through the "process" online as explained via email from Liz/Lisa...? And got her promise for a reservation. We arrived early, thank goodness in Homer and on a hunch decided to call to see if the Glacier Cabin was ready for us. She had NEVER put us on her books...

When a reservation request is submitted online, an automated email is sent out that specifically states that you will be contacted by the owner to confirm your reservation. None was ever sent to you since I inadvertently missed your email . I explained this to you, and apologized for the missed booking. When you arrived, you adamantly insisted multiple times...

I am sorry your were unhappy with your visit to the lower level of our chalet. Noise can always be an issue with 2 levels, and though we specifically remind guests in the upper level to be quiet when guests are in the lower level, we cannot guarantee they will comply. We would hope that you would contact us at...

Alpenglow was one of our favorite stops. The loveliest hosts, a beautiful panoramic house facing the glacier a few miles away from the hustle and bustle of summery Homer. A delicious homemade breakfast in glorious morning sunshine.

We received a warm and friendly welcome from Liz & Rich when we arrived at their lovely home. Their house is located a short distance out of Homer in a quiet rural location, with fantastic views across the bay. The room was spacious and very comfortable, with our own separate bathroom. As first-time visitors to Alaska we were particularly grateful...
