Upstairs apartment was spacious and had all the features we needed, and some. Full kitchen, comfortable beds. It was quiet and near to Homer by vehicle. The views from inside through the large windows and from the large deck are spectacular..

The lower level unit was very comfortable, lots of extra blankets which we appreciated. View of the mountains from out front was awesome. Only issue was that you could hear the folks in the upper unit walking about and showering --

My husband and I stayed in the lower level of Ship Captain's View for two nights at the end of July and we couldn't have been happier. We wish we would have booked at least another night, since we loved Homer. The home was spotless and was very comfortable. We spent the day at the Spit, but wanted to get... More

We had an extended family gathering in the area of Homer. The Ship Captains View accomidated our large group with ease. We used both the upper and lower units, and probably all the available parking spaces, including a boattrailer. The owner worked with up to make the parking work. The units were clean, comfortable and cozy. The location was excellent... More

This is excellent, got to be the best in Homer The owner, Richard, could not be more helpful letting us use his freezer for our fish. Patio with BBQ, large spotless accommodations, easy parking, minutes from the spit. Would recommend to anyone.

We spent two nights here, in the lower level quarters. The view was lovely, the beds were comfortable, the owner was pleasant and we had a great time. It was a good value for the area- we had 3 in our party but this would comfortably hold 4 guests. I would highly recommend staying here!

We had the pleasure of staying at Ship Captain's View the first week of September. I searched on Trip Advisor when looking for lodging and found the Ship Captain's View. The reviews were great and we went with that. We are thrilled we did so as this lodging is convenient, well kept and gives you a wonderful view. Richard was... More

My family and I had a great time at Ship Captain's View Cabins at Homer. When the sky clears, you get the great view of the bay and mountains. Moon over the ocean and its reflections were amazing. You want to stay up all night to watch the moon. The cabins are very cozy, and you have great view of... More

My fiance and I stayed in this house back in June and we absolutely loved it! We stayed on the lower floor, and still felt very secluded. The tenant is very kind, and makes sure that your stay is a positive one! We cannot wait to visit Homer again and stay here! The views are amazing! You can gaze out... More

My wife and I pulled into the Ship Captain's View one evening on our honeymoon while heading into Homer this summer. We were greeted by Richard, the owner and saw right away that he was friendly, helpful and all around a good egg. Richard put us up for the night in one of the most lovely guest cabins we've ever... “We didn't see the upper level, but the lower level was very comfortable for two people and would be just fine for four, or five. Take advantage of the kitchen and have your husband cook you dinner, or breakfast. Don't forget they have a grill. Doing a load of laundry was a huge plus!”

“Richard has two units, top and bottom. They can be individually rented or as a whole which would be great for larger families. He also offers laundry facility.”
