My husband and I are residents of Kenai, AK. A friend had recommended Ridgewood Wilderness Lodge in Halibut Cove for a quick and accessible weekend away. I had never been there before. From the initial boat ride over to the return trip back to Homer, our trip was well worth it! We went in February so I wasn't quite sure...

Our stay with the Sidelingers was a highlight of our three-week trip to Alaska. They all made us feel like a part of their family. We were fascinated by their knowledge of the area and the state coming from having moved here 40 years ago. Kevin treated us to a great hike on our first afternoon. We were in awe...

Waking up early, getting a cup of coffee and sitting out on the deck in the still morning air able to hear whales breathe and breach was one thing my wife will never forget. The lodge built by Sidelingers, is beautiful, in the midst of the wilderness, you can walk from extreme comfort into home of bear, sea lions, otters,...

From our first phone call to the Ridgewood Lodge to our last goodbyes on the dock after our stay, the Sidelingers made every effort to make our trip special...and it was! The pictures on the website don't do justice to the beauty of the lodge and the panoramic views of Halibut Cove and Katechmak Bay. This is a family owned...

We had the most wonderful time and marriage ceremony at Ridgewood Wilderness Lodge. Kevin and Lucinda made us feel like family from the time we arrived. The lodge is beautiful and they are amazing hosts. Lucinda's homemade blueberry cheesecake was so delicious and most of all their company was enjoyable. If you are looking for a wonderful place to stay...

This is not a lodge but someone's personal home and the bedrooms are in that home. Bedrooms are small with nowhere to put clothes so we lived out of our suitcases while here.We had to remove all shoes in the hallway upstairs before we could enter our bedrooms so they could keep the carpet new. Bathrooms also very small and...

While enumerating what we found to be disappointing as well as less than honest advertising keep in mind that we were paying $625 per night per person. 1. Our room was small, dimly lit, with no closet, no dresser. 2. The small bathroom had one small shelf on which to put toiletries. 3. The toiletries that were provided were one...

My wife and I stayed at the Ridgewood Lodge and were blown away by the location, the lodge itself and our warm and welcoming hosts. Kevin and Lucinda and Bowman and Jess were amazing and we felt like family from day 1! We are already planning our return trip. The food was exceptional, the lodge is stunning (and made completely...

We passed a great time in the Ridgewood Wilderness Lodge. Kevin constructed their wonderful house himself. It became a very nice lodge in the middle of wonderful nature. We liked the good food, the interesting outdoor activities and the perfect service.
