We stayed there for 4 nights (one because the ferry out was cancelled). The general feeling that I got was that the owner did not really care for the place or the guests - she just wanted the money. The first night, it was very cold and the heat would not come on. I called the lady who took care...

Thank you for your helpful comments. Sorry to say that with us not living on site our customer care has indeed been compromised. I recognize that lack of interaction with our guests has led to most the negative comments that are posted, but I have not been able to solve that dilemma. The heaters should have been offered when you...

Like the rest of Cordova: functional, quirky, expensive (it's Cordova! Alaska!), but very comfortable. The Northern Nights Inn folks have a couple of properties: I'm reviewing their Breakwater Property. A very good deal, same $$ for 4 people as a Cordova hotel, but here you get a large full 2-BR/1Ba apt w/ kitchen and great (long-range) views (vs. 1 cramped...

The upstairs of the very large home has been updated and converted to separate apartment-like dwellings, so it's not a typical hotel-style layout. Appears that the main floor of the house is being renovated so makes sense that other reviews have indicated that the owner(s) weren't around much at the time (but they're a phone call away...Cordova isn't that big...

It doesn't look anything like it's website. It's dirty, dead bugs on the floor, appears unsafe and is basically uninhabitable. Our family was supposed to stay there for 4 nights thanks to a great review from Frommers. We left after 5 minutes.

The place is clean, well maintained and quiet, but you have to keep in mind that this is not a hotel. Becky, the owner, is not always around but you will always have Kanji who lives just across the street and will try help you in anything you need. They will pick you up at the airport or port but...

Cordova is a beautiful place and well worth going to, especially if you are outdoor people. We spent 3 full days there and had a great time. Just be prepared for expensive dining so being able to cook is great if you want to do it. Northern Nights Inn was great as well. Very comfortable and convenient. Becky has decorated...

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon trip through Alaska. The house is old, but that's what makes it unique and charming. We stayed in the Whistlestop Room upstairs and LOVED our room. It was so charming. The bed was comfortable and there was a t.v., microwave and small refrigerator in the room. The bathroom was...

First impressions as you pull up to this lodging is “what have we booked ourselves into”. However, after getting situated in to the accommodations (we had the Trestle room) we found them amenable. We did have to wait a bit for the owner to arrive. She seemed pleasant enough but we did not have much interaction after the introduction. We...

Our room was fine; upstair and a small view if you looked out the window;; we barely saw the people but luckily a young girl was there when we arrived and she said the room was ready. When we did meet Becky she was very pleasant. The price was good @ $75; we opted for the smaller room and it...

Cordova is a fascinating town, a great base for the Childs Glacier and to get an insight into more of the real Alaska. Unfortunately, the friendly people of the town do not seem to have had any influence on the Northern Nights Inn. When we arrived, there was no one at home so we had to wait around 45 minutes...
